Bigg Boss

Bigg Boss OTT 3 has always been a show known for its drama, twists, and larger-than-life personalities. However, this season has taken a turn for the worse, leaving fans and critics alike scratching their heads and wondering what went wrong. At the heart of this debacle is none other than the iconic Anil Kapoor, whose hosting, critics say, has been nothing short of a disaster. TheGlitz digs deeper.

The Big Yawn

Bigg Boss OTT 3 was supposed to be the digital extension of the much-loved television show, promising more unfiltered drama and raw emotions. Instead, it has become a monotonous drag, losing the very essence that made it popular. The contestants seem disengaged, the tasks are repetitive, and the excitement that once kept viewers glued to their screens is nowhere to be found.

Bigg Boss

Anil Kapoor: A Miscast Masterclass

Anil Kapoor, an actor with an illustrious career, has somehow managed to be the wrong choice for the host. His attempts at injecting humor and energy into the show fall flat, often coming off as forced and out of touch. The charm that works in films does not necessarily translate to reality TV hosting, and Kapoor’s over-the-top style feels jarring rather than entertaining.

Lost in Translation

Kapoor’s hosting lacks the spontaneity and connection needed for a show like Bigg Boss OTT. His scripted lines and rehearsed reactions fail to capture the unpredictable nature of the show. The essence of Bigg Boss is its real-time drama and the host’s ability to react and adapt – qualities Kapoor seems to lack. His interactions with the contestants feel stiff and unnatural, making it hard for viewers to invest in the narrative.

A Cast of Characters Gone Awry

The contestant lineup this season is a hot mess. Armaan Malik, with his two wives, is abusive and violent, yet inexplicably seems to be a favorite of Bigg Boss. His troubling behavior is a glaring issue, yet he continues to receive undue favor. Meanwhile, Ranvir Shorey is openly biased, making no effort to hide his partiality.

Sai Ketan remains a non-factor, doing little to influence the dynamics of the house, while “bimbette” bhabhi number two, Kritika Malik, adds nothing of substance to the mix. The younger contestants like Vishal Pandey, Lovekesh Kataria, and Sana Maqbul are being demoralized, with their spirits crushed under the weight of the show’s uneven treatment.

In this chaos, Shivani is emerging as the dark horse, quietly manipulating and maneuvering through the turmoil, while Naezy provides some much-needed amusement with his antics. However, these glimmers of hope are not enough to salvage a season that is fundamentally flawed.

The So-Called Scandal
In an attempt to inject some much-needed masala into the show, a so-called sex video of Armaan Malik and his wife Kritika Malik made the rounds. However, Jio Cinema was quick to dismiss it as “doctored.” Even this failed to add any real spice to the show, leaving viewers more perplexed than entertained. This desperate move did little to boost the dwindling viewership or revive the flagging interest in this season.

Dwindling Viewership

The numbers speak for themselves. Viewership has been on a steady decline, with fans taking to social media to voice their disappointment. Comments like “Bring back the old host” and “Bigg Boss OTT 3 is unwatchable” flood the internet, highlighting the show’s fall from grace. The once-thriving fan base is now reduced to a chorus of dissatisfaction and disinterest.

The Lackluster Line-Up

Apart from the hosting disaster, this season’s contestants lack the spark and charisma of previous seasons. The casting feels like a half-hearted attempt to recreate past successes, resulting in a group of individuals who fail to engage or entertain. The chemistry, conflicts, and camaraderie that are the hallmarks of Bigg Boss are sorely missing, making each episode a tedious watch.

Bring Back Salman Khan

Salman Khan

The solution seems obvious to many: bring back Salman Khan, the man synonymous with Bigg Boss. Khan’s unique hosting style, ability to connect with contestants, and his knack for creating engaging content have always been a winning formula. His presence could inject the much-needed energy and excitement back into the show, reviving its former glory.

Final Thoughts

Bigg Boss OTT has lost its way, and Anil Kapoor’s hosting has only added to its woes. The show’s format needs a fresh perspective and a host who can truly capture the spirit of Bigg Boss. Until then, viewers are left with a show that once promised unmissable drama but has become an unwatchable bore. It’s time for Bigg Boss OTT to wake up, shake things up, and bring back the magic that made it a household name. And what better way to do that than by bringing back Salman Khan, the man who made Bigg Boss a phenomenon in the first place?
