The Orchid Hotel Pune – Rath Yatra

Every year, the Rath Yatra brings with it a vibrant burst of faith, joy, and devotion. But this year in Pune, the sacred procession was accompanied by a gentle green breeze of purpose, thanks to The Orchid Hotel Pune, which added a heartfelt and eco-conscious touch to the grand event. TheGlitz reports…

The Orchid Hotel Pune – Celebrating Rath Yatra Uniquely

As the rhythmic drumbeats and chants echoed through the streets of Khadki, a group of 15 enthusiastic employees from The Orchid Hotel Pune stepped into the colourful crowd, not just to witness the spiritual celebration, but to become a part of something deeper. With hands full of pocket-sized Bhagavad Gita booklets and beautifully crafted seed paper bookmarks, their mission was clear: to inspire people to look within and give back to the Earth.

The Orchid Hotel

Every booklet carried timeless wisdom from the Gita, while the bookmarks, made from biodegradable seed paper, held a dual message. On one side, a simple, soul-touching invitation: “Plant this Tulsi sapling as an act of devotion.” On the other side, a line inspired by Bhagavad Gita 3.14: “All living beings are sustained by food, which comes from nature’s cycle. Let your actions sustain life.”

Seed Of Thought

It wasn’t just a gesture, it was a seed of thought. In a world that often races forward without pause, this initiative invited people to reflect, reconnect, and renew their bond with both nature and the divine.

Speaking about the initiative, Soumitra Kundu, Deputy General Manager of The Orchid Hotel Pune, shared with warmth, “We wanted our participation in the Rath Yatra to go beyond just presence, it was about purpose. We believed in doing something meaningful, something that could linger in people’s hearts even after the drums had faded. By blending sacred literature with a sustainable action, we hoped to create a ripple effect of thoughtful living.”

And indeed, they did!

People receiving the bookmarks were visibly touched, some paused mid-procession to read the message, others smiled softly, holding the Tulsi seed paper close to their chest. Children asked questions, elders nodded in approval, and the young clicked pictures to share the moment on social media. It was a reminder that even the smallest acts, when done with intention, can create waves of positivity.

Firm Commitment To Social Endeavours

This beautiful act was part of Orchid Hotels’ broader commitment to social responsibility… a commitment that runs deep through the brand’s philosophy. Known as one of India’s leading eco-friendly hospitality chains, The Orchid Hotel has always taken the path less traveled. Their CSR initiatives aren’t about ticking boxes, they’re about creating meaningful experiences that give back to society and the planet.

…Whether it’s reducing plastic waste, adopting green energy solutions, or supporting community causes, The Orchid Hotel Pune has consistently demonstrated that luxury and responsibility can coexist beautifully.

The Rath Yatra initiative was a perfect blend of these values, deep-rooted tradition meeting forward-thinking action. It reminded us that festivals aren’t just about celebration; they’re also opportunities to spread awareness, share love, and take actions that matter.

TheGlitz Musing

As the Rath Yatra wound its way through the streets and the Tulsi bookmarks found new homes in pockets, palms, and plant pots across Pune, a quiet revolution was set in motion. Each planted seed symbolised not just devotion, but hope. Hope for a greener tomorrow, for mindful communities, and for a world where faith is lived not just in temples, but in the choices we make every day.

And in that spirit, The Orchid Hotel Pune didn’t just join a procession, they planted something far more deeper and lasting… blessings that grow.
