Arvind Limited x Ashish N Soni
When fabric becomes the starting point for fashion… Indeed, it’s good news for Indian fashion… Arvind Limited and Ashish N Soni is all set to bring the textile-to-runway story into sharp focus at the upcoming Lakmé Fashion Week set for October 16, 2026, in partnership with FDCI.
Fashion often begins with a sketch. But sometimes, the real story starts much earlier… at the loom, in the weave, in the texture and in the quiet innovation that goes into creating the fabric. This season, Arvind Limited is putting that story firmly in the spotlight, joining hands with celebrated designer Ashish N Soni for a contemporary menswear showcase at Lakmé Fashion Week 2026 in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). Set for 16th October 2026 at Taj Palace, New Delhi, the presentation promises to explore what happens when textile expertise meets a designer known for his sharp, modern vocabulary. TheGlitz takes a closer look.
Where Fabric Meets Fashion
The collaboration brings together two distinct strengths: Arvind Limited’s deep expertise in textiles and Ashish N Soni’s refined approach to contemporary menswear. Rather than treating fabric as simply the canvas for a collection, the showcase places material innovation at the heart of the design conversation.
The collection will feature an expansive selection of Arvind fabrics spanning Cotton, Wool, Linen, Tencel, Bamboo and more, highlighting the breadth of possibilities within modern textiles. Under Soni’s design lens, these materials are being transformed into menswear that explores the relationship between fabric, form, movement and function.
It is, in many ways, a conversation between the technical and the aesthetic… and one where the fabric gets a seat at the creative table.
The Ashish N Soni Perspective

Known for his sophisticated tailoring, clean silhouettes and contemporary interpretation of menswear, Ashish N Soni brings years of design experience to the collaboration. His approach has always had an eye on refinement without unnecessary excess, making the dialogue with Arvind’s textile expertise particularly relevant.
Ashish N Soni, Design Director at Ashish N Soni, Ikos Designs Pvt. Ltd says, “Working with Arvind has been a truly exciting and rewarding experience for me. The collaboration brings together my years of experience and design perspective with Arvind’s exceptional skill and deep expertise in textiles. I have always had a great appreciation for fine, high-end textiles, and the quality, sophistication and finish of Arvind’s fabrics make them particularly inspiring to work with. It has been a wonderful creative dialogue, and I’m very pleased with what we have created together. I look forward to sharing it soon.”
For him, the appeal lies in the quality of the material itself. He describes working with Arvind as an exciting creative exchange, noting his appreciation for fine, high-end textiles and the quality, sophistication and finish of the fabrics.
The resulting collection promises to translate those characteristics into a wardrobe that is polished, wearable and distinctly contemporary.
From the Runway to Real Life
Perhaps the most interesting part of this fashion story comes after the runway lights dim. Select looks from the showcase will be made available at The Arvind Stores shortly after the Lakmé Fashion Week presentation, creating a direct connection between the runway and the consumer. It is a move that makes the journey of a garment more tangible: from textile development to designer studio, from runway to retail floor.
For fashion audiences, that could mean seeing an idea on the runway and then actually encountering it in-store… a welcome closing of the gap between fashion spectacle and everyday wardrobe.
A Complete Fashion Ecosystem
For Arvind Limited, the collaboration represents more than a fashion-week showcase. It brings together its textile heritage, Soni’s design sensibility and the reach of Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI to illustrate the increasingly interconnected fashion ecosystem.
Kulin Lalbhai, Vice Chairman, Arvind Limited, says the collaboration aims to demonstrate the versatility of the company’s textiles and the possibilities they offer “from the loom to the runway.”
“We are elated to partner with Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI this season and to
collaborate with Ashish N Soni on this showcase. Ashish has a distinctive ability to translate the
character and potential of a fabric into stylish, wearable design. Through this collaboration, we want
to demonstrate the versatility of our textiles and the possibilities they offer, from the loom to the
runway,” adds Kulin Lalbhai, Vice Chairman, Arvind Limited.
And that may well be the real headline here. In an industry where the finished look often gets all the attention, this collaboration puts the spotlight back on the material that makes the look possible.
On 16th October, Taj Palace, New Delhi, will provide the runway. Arvind will bring the fabric. Ashish N Soni will bring the design language. And together, they will make the case for why great fashion may begin not with what you see… but with what you feel between your fingers.
TheGlitz Take
Arvind Limited brings the fabric. Ashish N Soni brings the finesse. Together, expect menswear with brains, brawn and serious runway swagger at the upcoming Lakmē Fashion Week 2026. …Because when textile innovation meets a design maverick, the fabric gets a fashion upgrade.
