Over To Simer Motiani, Founder, Stellaratti Brand Consultants

Simer Motiani

You made a rare and fascinating transition from acting and modeling to founding a successful PR and brand consultancy. What inspired this shift, and how did your background in entertainment shape your approach to communications?
Simer Motiani – My journey from acting and modeling to PR was a very organic one. Being in front of the camera taught me how crucial narrative, perception, and timing are and PR is all about those same elements. Over time, I realized I was deeply passionate about storytelling, but from the other side of the lens. I wanted to shape brand stories, not just be a part of them. The entertainment industry also gave me a deep understanding of how media functions, how to build visibility, and most importantly, how to connect with audiences in an authentic way.

Stellaratti is one of the first all-women PR teams in the country. What was your motivation behind building a women-led agency, and how has this decision influenced your work culture and client relationships?

Simer Motiani – I didn’t consciously set out to build an all-women team, it just happened very naturally. Over time, I realized the kind of magic that happens when talented, driven women come together with a shared vision. It has created a very collaborative, intuitive, and empathetic work environment. Our clients often tell us that our attention to detail, emotional intelligence, and consistency set us apart. And I truly believe that comes from the strength of our team dynamic.

From representing F&B hotspots in Goa to luxury lifestyle brands in Mumbai, Stellaratti Brand Consultants has built a strong and diverse portfolio. What would you say was your first major breakthrough moment or milestone client?

Simer Motiani – Our big breakthrough came when we signed our first luxury hospitality brand in Goa. It gave us the platform to showcase what we could do strategic storytelling, high-impact campaigns, and media traction that converted into real visibility. From there, the word spread, and we began attracting more premium clients across lifestyle, fashion, and F&B. Every client since has helped build our reputation, but that first win was the launchpad.

PR is all about narrative and timing, two elements you were already familiar with as an actress. What unique strengths or insights do you think you brought from the entertainment world that gave you an edge in the PR space?

Simer Motiani – In the entertainment world, you learn early on that perception is everything. That understanding of image management, audience psychology, and the pace of media cycles has been invaluable in my PR journey. I also bring a creative mindset to campaigns and we’re constantly thinking about how to tell stories differently, visually, and impactfully. Having lived the media experience firsthand, I know exactly what catches attention and what doesn’t.

Entrepreneurship isn’t without its challenges. What have been some of the biggest hurdles you’ve faced while building Stellaratti Brand Consultants from the ground up, and how did you navigate them?

Simer Motiani – One of the biggest challenges was earning credibility in an industry that’s both competitive and relationship-driven. As a new player, we had to prove ourselves—through our work, our commitment, and results. There were times when resources were limited, or timelines were unrealistic, but we powered through with agility and teamwork. I also believe that showing up with integrity every single time goes a long way. Slowly but surely, our work started speaking for itself.

With influencer marketing, user-generated content, and digital storytelling reshaping the PR industry, how does Stellaratti Brand Consultants stay ahead of trends while staying true to its brand philosophy?

Simer Motiani – We embrace change while staying rooted in our core values—authenticity, creativity, and consistency. At Stellaratti Brand Consultants, we’re always learning be it from digital trends, platform updates, or consumer behavior shifts. But we don’t blindly chase trends; we assess what works for each client and craft a strategy that feels relevant and real. Whether it’s a celebrity-led launch or a UGC-driven campaign, our goal is always to make the story memorable and meaningful.

You’ve successfully established a strong presence in Mumbai and Goa. What excites you most about your upcoming plans to expand into Delhi, Bangalore, and the luxury sector?

Simer Motiani – I’m incredibly excited about bringing the Stellaratti Brand Consultants energy to new markets. Delhi and Bangalore are dynamic cities with evolving audiences, and there’s immense potential in the luxury space especially with Indian consumers becoming more discerning and globally aware. I think our team’s fresh perspective, coupled with our storytelling expertise, will really resonate in these spaces. It’s a thrilling next chapter for us.

As a founder, mentor, and team leader, what values or leadership principles do you prioritize to empower your team and continue creating high-impact campaigns in a competitive industry?

Simer Motiani – I lead with empathy, transparency, and trust. I truly believe that when people feel seen and supported, they thrive. At Stellaratti Brand Consultants, we celebrate individuality we’re not a cookie-cutter team, and that’s our strength. I encourage experimentation, push for excellence, and try to lead by example. We’re in the business of storytelling, and I want every team member to feel like they’re writing their own impactful story here, not just following a script.
