In an era where content consumption is dominated by quick thrills and high-octane spectacles, The Bihar Chapter fame actor Chandra Shekhar Dutta and writer-director Garima Bhoria are carving out a distinctive space for themselves with films that blend psychological realism, mythological undertones, and deep-rooted cultural narratives. Under their banner, Jai Maa Manasa Mangal Films LLP, the creative duo is all set to unveil two thought-provoking short films, The Entrance and Ghungroo, streaming exclusively on Waves OTT, India’s national streaming platform launched by Prasar Bharati. TheGlitz reports…

While The Entrance is already available to watch for free, Ghungroo begins streaming on October 10, 2025. Together, the films not only showcase the depth of their artistic collaboration but also reinforce their shared vision: to create cinema that is emotionally layered, introspective, and culturally resonant.

Jai Maa Manasa Mangal Films LLP – The Entrance: A Reflection That Haunts

Imagine looking into a mirror only to realise that your reflection no longer belongs to you. That’s the chilling premise of The Entrance, written, directed, and edited by Garima Bhoria. The film stars Chandra Shekhar Dutta in a double role, portraying a man suffering from Eisoptrophobia, the fear of mirrors.

What begins as a mundane everyday routine spirals into a psychological nightmare when the protagonist’s reflection stops obeying him. The film explores the fragile boundary between perception and madness, diving deep into identity, fear, and the unsettling truths hidden within the self.

Visually stark and thematically layered, The Entrance is not just a psychological thriller but also a metaphor for the fractured identities and silent battles that define modern existence.

Ghungroo: A Poignant Tale of Survival and Love

If The Entrance is an inward exploration of the mind, Ghungroo is an outward portrayal of human resilience. Set in 1954 rural India, the film is adapted from Mahesh by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, one of India’s most celebrated literary voices.

The story follows Gafoor, a poverty-stricken farmer, his 12-year-old daughter Amina, and their beloved bull Mahesh, adorned with the titular ghungroo. Against the backdrop of scorching summer and economic hardship, the narrative weaves a heartfelt tale of survival, dignity, and love.

Screenplay, direction, and editing are helmed by Garima Bhoria, who brings a raw yet deeply emotional touch to this period drama. Through Gafoor’s struggle and Amina’s innocence, Ghungroo reflects on the timeless bond between humans, their animals, and the fight to retain dignity amidst poverty.

The Creative Synergy of Chandra Shekhar Dutta & Garima Bhoria

Together, Chandra Shekhar Dutta and Garima Bhoria are forging a cinematic path that is anything but ordinary. Dutta, an FTII Pune alumnus, brings more than 15 years of experience across films, web series, and theatre. His filmography includes memorable roles such as Mantri in Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, the Preacher in The Kerala Story, Gandharva in Laakhon Mein Ek Season 2, and Velji in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ramleela. Known for his psychological nuance and cultural sensitivity, Dutta’s performances often resonate with audiences on multiple levels.

Garima Bhoria, a Whistling Woods International alumna, is equally versatile. Her body of work spans projects for the Government of India, Rajasthan Tourism, BBC, and ONGC, along with stints at Shri Adhikari Brothers and Pooja Films & Entertainment. As a filmmaker, writer, and editor, her cinematic style is marked by introspection, silence, and the exploration of unspoken relationships. Her stories, like The Entrance and Ghungroo, thrive on emotional authenticity and a willingness to experiment.

A Vision Rooted in Depth and Relevance

With The Entrance and Ghungroo, the duo has not only crafted two strikingly different films but also demonstrated the diversity of their creative vision, one deeply psychological, the other profoundly socio-cultural. Both, however, are united by their commitment to emotionally layered storytelling.

“Our vision is to tell stories that resonate psychologically and culturally, bridging tradition and contemporary cinematic expression,” say Dutta and Bhoria.

The Promise of Jai Maa Manasa Mangal Films

Through Jai Maa Manasa Mangal Films LLP, the duo is building a brand of cinema that challenges, provokes, and moves its audience. It is a rare marriage of psychological realism, mythological depth, and social consciousness, one that feels especially relevant in today’s fragmented yet interconnected world.

As The Entrance already unsettles viewers with its eerie psychological lens and Ghungroo prepares to touch hearts with its poignant storytelling, Dutta and Bhoria prove that meaningful cinema doesn’t have to be confined to mainstream formulas.

Instead, it can thrive on platforms like Waves OTT, where accessibility meets artistry, and where stories like these remind us of cinema’s true power… to reflect, to move, and to resonate across time and culture. And… TheGlitz says, we just can’t wait to watch these in-depth short films.
