Solo travel, as I see it, is the ultimate act of liberation. But between Instagram-perfect sunsets and the reality of navigating an unfamiliar world alone, there is a more complicated story. The question isn't whether we should travel solo. It's whether the travel industry, our destinations and society are doing enough to make that freedom genuinely safe.
