It was World of Palate’s anniversary and TheGlitz was invited… On a lovely Thursday afternoon, we stepped into a space that promised not just food, but an experience — one crafted with warmth, intention, and a refined understanding of what makes a meal memorable. Nestled inside CR2 Mall at Nariman Point, World of Palates rises above the ordinary, offering an atmosphere so inviting that even before the first dish arrived, the place had already worked its quiet magic.

World of Palate’s Amazing Ambience

World

The moment we exited the lift — which, thoughtfully, opens directly into the restaurant, making it exceptionally convenient and senior citizen–friendly — we were welcomed with the kind of hospitality that immediately puts you at ease. Soft lighting, the gentle hum of conversations, clusters of plants, and most delightfully, books lined tastefully across shelves. For someone like me, who finds comfort and companionship in books, this ambience felt like walking into a space designed with my heart in mind. Warm, cosy, aesthetically layered — a restaurant that doesn’t just feed you, but embraces you.

From Mocktails To Baklava

World

We were greeted with a Sunrise Berry mocktail, a refreshing blend that arrived looking like liquid sunshine. Its berry–citrus balance acted as the perfect palette awakener — bright, cool, and celebratory, much like the afternoon itself. As we took our seats, the staff ensured we settled in comfortably, their attentiveness noticeable yet never intrusive.

Veg Baklava
Zatar Spiced Keba

Our culinary journey began with the Zatar Spiced Kebab, a Middle Eastern–inspired preparation that blended vegetables with aromatic za’atar spice. Lightly smoky, well-seasoned, and tender, it set the tone beautifully. The second starter — an unexpected delight — was the Veg Baklava. Flaky, golden layers wrapped around a savoury filling, creating a surprising, innovative twist on the traditional dish. It was a conversation-starter and a showstopper all at once.

Shahi Paneer
Ahuna mock meat dish

For mains, we chose the Shahi Paneer, a dish that arrived in all its regal richness. Creamy, silky, indulgent — the paneer melted effortlessly, carrying the nuances of its aromatic gravy with elegance. Paired with freshly baked kulcha, soft and warm from the tandoor, it made for a comforting and satisfying combination. The kitchen also sent out their signature Ahuna mock meat dish — a delightful plant-based preparation that mirrored the texture and depth of traditional meat-based entrées. Perfectly cooked, flavour-packed, and thoughtfully plated, it showcased the restaurant’s flair for creating global vegetarian cuisine without compromising on authenticity or taste.

Pistachio Kunafa Cheesecake

The culinary arc reached its sweetest notes with desserts that deserved every bit of appreciation they received. First came the Pistachio Kunafa Cheesecake, an exquisite union of creamy cheesecake and crisp kunafa strands. Each bite was a balance of textures — buttery, crunchy, creamy, and subtly sweet. The second dessert, the Opera Cake, delivered a refined European finish: coffee-soaked sponge, velvety chocolate, and delicate layers that came together like a well-conducted symphony.

The Service

The service tends to make or break the reputation of a restaurant. Throughout the entire experience, the service remained exceptional. Sagar Barsingh and Archana were warm, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu — the kind of service that enhances a dining experience without overshadowing it. And a special mention must be made of Sandesh, the manager, whose quiet efficiency, politeness, and readiness to help added a comforting layer of hospitality to the afternoon. Their collective warmth made the celebration feel personal and meaningful.

TheGlitz Verdict

World of Palates stands out not just for its food, but for its vision: a global vegetarian restaurant that celebrates flavours from around the world while creating an ambience that feels like home. It’s warm, inviting, aesthetically mindful, and thoughtfully designed for diners of all ages.

Our afternoon there felt like a celebration — of food, of hospitality, and of the joy of discovering a place with heart.
