My words… SulaFest
As a seasoned journalist and self-proclaimed wine enthusiast, SulaFest has always been one of those events I looked forward to every year. There’s just something magical about the blend of live music, chilled wines, and the picturesque backdrop of Sula’s lush Nashik vineyards. But then came the heartbreak- the five-year hiatus. And let me tell you, it felt like missing out on the ultimate wine and music pairing. But, finally, the wait is over. In February 2025, the 14th edition of SulaFest is back with a bang, and my excitement knows no bounds!
For those of you who’ve been living under a rock (or perhaps sipping a less-than-stellar glass of wine), SulaFest is Asia’s biggest vineyard music festival. It’s a heady concoction of live music, premium wines, delectable food, and a whole lot of unforgettable memories. And after a long five-year break, it’s safe to say that Sula Vineyards is ready to unleash this festival like never before.
Rajeev Samant, CEO of Sula Vineyards, summed it up best when he said, “We’re absolutely delighted to bring SulaFest back after five years. The festival has always embodied our love for wine, music, and community. This break has only amplified our enthusiasm to create an experience that not only honours the SulaFest legacy but elevates it to new heights.”
And elevate it, they will. Trust me, the lineup this year is nothing short of spectacular. SulaFest has always been known for hosting an eclectic mix of artists, and I can’t wait to see which new names will grace the stage. From the legendary Lucky Ali to the electrifying performances by Divine and Papon, SulaFest has always been a celebration of the finest in both music and wine. And with international artists like Dub Inc. and Gaudi also gracing the stage in the past, you can expect an international flair with every sip and every note played.
But it’s not just about the music. It’s about the experience. The festival takes place in the stunning Nashik vineyards, where every corner is brimming with natural beauty. As you sip on Sula’s finest reds and whites, the breathtaking landscape is enough to make you want to live in the moment forever. Throw in some delicious food, interactive wine tastings with sommeliers who make wine sound like poetry, and an artisanal marketplace, and you’ve got a weekend worth remembering.
And here’s the kicker: SulaFest is going biannual. That’s right, no more waiting around for years before the next festival. The festival’s organizers have decided that this special event will now take place every two years, ensuring that every edition is even more carefully curated and extraordinary than the last. Think of it as a fine wine that gets better with age – just like SulaFest’s evolution.
For all the die-hard SulaFest fans, the revival of this festival has been a long time coming. I can already feel the rush of excitement as fans begin to plan their getaway to Nashik. In the coming weeks, the festival will announce its lineup of artists, along with ticket sales through a leading platform. I can already hear the sound of corks popping in celebration!
So, why am I so thrilled for this return? Well, aside from the obvious (hello, wine!), it’s the unique blend of cultural experiences, the laid-back luxury, and the fact that it’s finally happening again. The event brings together music, food, wine, and an atmosphere that you simply can’t replicate. Whether you’re a wine novice or an aficionado, there’s something undeniably special about sipping Sula’s finest while soaking in the melodies that float in the air.
As we countdown to February 1st and 2nd, 2025, I’m already mentally packing my bags. This will be a weekend that promises to set the stage for a new chapter in SulaFest history, and I, for one, can’t wait to be part of it. For those who’ve experienced it before, you know exactly what I’m talking about. And for those who haven’t, well, it’s high time you joined in on this unforgettable celebration of wine, music, and memories.
See you at the vineyards!
