In celebration of World Tourism Day, Deekshha Sonalkar Tham and TheGlitz travel beyond the screen to explore the connection between entertainment and wanderlust. That’s right… meet the talented actress Deekshha Sonalkar Tham, known for her captivating performances in shows like Bani – Ishq Da Kalma and Maharana Pratap, and currently shining as Ishika in Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye. On this special travel and tourism day, Deekshha shares her insights on how the allure of cinema and television fuels our travel dreams.

Deekshha Travels

“The entertainment industry is a massive contributor to travel and tourism,” Deekshha explains with enthusiasm. “The way places are shot and portrayed on screen definitely motivates audiences to visit those places.” Whether it’s the breathtaking landscapes featured in an epic saga or the charming streets of a romantic getaway, the power of visual storytelling has a profound impact on our travel desires.

Deekshha reveals that it’s not just viewers who are enchanted by the scenic beauty of film locations—tourism boards are also capitalizing on the cinematic magic. “Some destinations invite filmmakers to shoot as a form of advertising their place,” she notes. “This, in turn, increases visibility and clientele for them.” From the breathtaking beauty of Corsica showcased in Tamasha to the historic allure of Croatia in Game of Thrones, films have transformed many once-hidden gems into must-see travel spots.

Reflecting on some memorable examples, she says, “Very few people knew about Corsica before Tamasha was filmed there. Similarly, Croatia saw a surge in visitors after Game of Thrones. And who could forget Switzerland after Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge? That film alone turned the country into a romantic paradise for travelers!”

When it comes to her own travel aspirations, Deekshha has her sights set on the enchanting city of Verona, Italy. “I really want to visit Verona someday,” she shares with a sparkle in her eye. “After watching Letters to Juliet, I’ve dreamed of exploring the town that inspired the legendary love story of Romeo and Juliet. I had hoped to go there last summer, but my filming schedule didn’t allow it. Fingers crossed for next summer!”

As Deekshha reflects on the role of films and TV in sparking our wanderlust, her passion for exploring new horizons serves as a reminder that storytelling—whether on screen or through our own experiences—can inspire us to seek adventure. Her love for travel, ignited by the captivating stories she cherishes, encourages us all to step out of our comfort zones and discover the beauty of the world that awaits beyond our everyday lives.

So, the next time you find yourself swept away by a stunning scene in a film or show, don’t be surprised if you feel an irresistible urge to visit those locations in real life. Deekshha’s insights highlight the enchanting blend of entertainment and exploration, reminding us that when the world of cinema and travel collide, unforgettable adventures await!

Think about it: those breathtaking vistas of lush hillsides in Corsica or the sun-kissed canals of Venice can ignite a longing to explore the very places that captured your imagination on screen. Film and television have an uncanny ability to transport us to exotic locales, allowing us to vicariously experience the culture, beauty, and romance of each destination. As viewers, we become enchanted not just by the storylines and characters but also by the stunning backdrops that play a significant role in bringing those narratives to life.

Moreover, this phenomenon isn’t just a fleeting desire. Many viewers are inspired to book their flights and embark on journeys that echo the adventures they’ve witnessed on screen. Iconic locations, once obscure, now become hot spots as tourists flock to capture their own Instagram-worthy moments in front of the breathtaking landscapes featured in their favorite films. From the picturesque landscapes of New Zealand made famous by The Lord of the Rings to the vibrant streets of Mumbai showcased in Slumdog Millionaire, film tourism has transformed the way we travel.

In this age of social media, where our travel experiences are shared with the world, the connection between film and tourism becomes even more palpable. It’s not just about visiting a place; it’s about recreating those magical moments that made us laugh, cry, or dream. As Deekshha so beautifully articulates, these cinematic experiences have a profound effect on our desire to explore, bridging the gap between our favorite stories and real-world adventures.

So, let yourself be inspired like Deekshha! The next time a scene takes your breath away, consider taking the plunge to experience it firsthand. Embrace the wanderlust that comes from those unforgettable cinematic journeys.

After all, every destination holds its own stories, waiting for you to discover them—much like the characters we’ve come to love on screen. Whether it’s sipping coffee in a quaint café in Paris, hiking along the majestic cliffs of Santorini, or strolling through the ancient streets of Rome, let the magic of cinema guide your travels and lead you to your next great adventure. The world is waiting, and who knows? You might just find the extraordinary in the ordinary as you create your own story to tell.
