Dipti Tolani used to be the typical woman in finance. She was in New York and her daily routine consisted of client meetings, conferences and a few more meetings. But along with the other crucial changes, the humdrum got to her and she migrated from New York to India. A financial genius, she was also an entrepreneur with a creative mind. So Dipti decided to put her fashion sense to use. In the course of work, she discovered that even though there were so-called options available, there was nothing much that qualified for work wear. And even if you get past that, there was the problem of the correct fit, poor designs, fabrics and of course, the pocket pinch. That’s when Dipti started her unique venture Salt Attire.

Meet TheGlitz Super Woman Dipti Tolani who tells us why she believed in the quote: Vitality shows not only in the ability to persist but in the ability to start over. Read on…

Your journey has had many momentous milestones. Could you tell us about your life-changing journey that has molded you to be what you are today?

Everyone has memorable journeys, and mine has been no different. I believe it is what you take away from those journeys and the lessons you learn that matter.

Could you list 3 of your major achievements?

You cannot put a number on your achievements. We all achieve something every day, big or small.
I am grateful for where I am today, and just knowing that I have provided a community for women in some ways is the biggest takeaway.

What are the setbacks you have faced? How did you tackle these setbacks or challenges? And what lesson have you learned from it?

The pandemic proved to be a challenge for all entrepreneurs. There was a lot of learning and teaching involved so we could carry out our operations with respect to the guidelines provided by the government.
It took a lot of effort and dedication, but with the help of my team, we managed to sail through.

When you look back, what are the three qualities in you that have helped you become what you are today?
-Patience, passion, and perseverance – one has to maintain the right balance of all three.

Who are the people who have been the wind behind your wings?

My family has been my support system throughout, but I would not be where I am today without the resilience of the Salt Attire team and our clientele, who continue to show us tremendous love.

Lastly, if there was a quote to define you, what would it be?

  • F. Scott Fitzgerald beautifully summarised something I believe in deeply- Vitality shows not only in the ability to persist but in the ability to start over.
