Over To Deepti Pillay Sivan

You are not just a powerhouse of talent, you are also a multi-faceted achiever. producer and so much more. So what defines you as a woman?

  • To me, a woman is a person who finds the perfect balance between home and work. Someone who is known to prioritize life according to the situation, besides giving herself to her family as well as work, yet she manages to achieve success.
  • A woman faces more challenges and resistance, yet if she achieves her goals in the face of adversity and gains respect not only from other women but also from men… that speaks of her grit and confidence in herself.
  • Someone who believes that this too is a stage of life and this too shall pass, whether good or bad … …And so success or failure doesn’t affect her. Hence remains grounded, level-headed, simple, compassionate and loving to all without any hatred. In my opinion, that’s what makes a complete woman.

Are you a strong woman who has held her ground no matter what or a firebrand feminist? Or both? Why?

Yes, I am a strong woman and firm in my decisions… People call me a firebrand for being aggressive in asserting my rights, fighting for the needy and achieving the impossible.

Lastly, if there was a quote to define you, what would it be?

I have a poem to describe me- one that ex-PM of Britain Margret Thatcher is famous for:

“No Enemies” by Scottish poet Charles Mackay,

“You have no enemies, you say?

Alas! my friend, the boast is poor;

He who has mingled in the fray

Of duty, that the brave endure,

Must have made foes! If you have none,

Small is the work that you have done.

You’ve hit no traitor on the hip,

You’ve dashed no cup from perjured lip,

You’ve never turned the wrong to right,

You’ve been a coward in the fight.”

Yet if you want me to mention a quote about me -I’d say, “A phenomenal woman who is determined to do, what others stop her from doing… and that’s me!”

Luxury travel is changing. Increasingly, the most memorable experiences are not necessarily found behind gilded doors or beneath chandeliers, but in places where nature, heritage and a sense of authenticity take centre stage. At TheGlitz, we call it luxury that goes beyond the superficial — the kind that is felt rather than flaunted. Perhaps that's why we turned our spotlight to Morocco.
