TheGlitz 'Super Woman' Shivali Bhammer began producing bhajans in her teenage years and ended up being the pioneer of contemporary bhajans in the UK. One of her early works called 'Bolo Ram', co-produced with Arjun Coomaraswamy, was officially nominated for Best Debut Single. 'The Bhajan Project' was nominated for Best Fusion Album at the Global Indian Music Award 2011 for which, she saw great success and she has now released 'The Bhajan Project 2' on the 17th of February 2023. Meet TheGlitz Super Women... Manjusha Javier and her daughter Najooka who started ‘Tohfa’ when Manjusha lost her job at the age of 50. The Javiers were very clear. They wanted to promote authentic Indian weaves and encourage and empower artisans in India by sourcing fabrics from them. Najooka says, “We have helped in the skill development of local women and employed them who over the years have joined us in our initiative. Today ‘Tohfa’ is a team of 8 women and we are hoping to grow stronger. We are also trying to promote a plastic-free life by providing 100% fabric-based alternatives to plastic products that people use. Dipti Tolani used to be the typical woman in finance. She was in New York and her daily routine consisted of client meetings, conferences and a few more meetings.
