UK’s iconic fashion brand NEXT has officially entered the Indian retail landscape with the launch of its first Exclusive Brand Store (EBO) in association with Myntra Jabong India Pvt. Ltd. (MJIPL), the B2B wholesale arm of Myntra. The debut store, located at the bustling Pavilion Mall in Pune, marks the beginning of NEXT’s ambitious journey in India, where it plans to expand to 50 points of sale by 2030. TheGlitz reports…

Founded in 1982, NEXT is renowned for its mastery of classic contemporary styles that seamlessly blend timeless sophistication with modern appeal. With over 460 UK stores, 265 international franchise outlets, and an online presence spanning 80 countries, the brand has scaled to become the UK’s largest fashion retailer. Its reputation rests on an uncompromising commitment to outstanding design, premium quality, and true value. Bringing this global legacy to India, NEXT is set to become a sought-after destination for fashion-conscious shoppers who demand both style and substance.

A Stylish Debut in Pune

The newly opened 7,100 sq. ft. store at Pavilion Mall encapsulates NEXT’s hallmark British elegance and modernity. Designed to reflect the brand’s international standards, the store layout offers customers an inviting shopping experience where every product category… from menswear to womenswear to kidswear, is thoughtfully displayed. Indian consumers can now indulge in the brand’s globally acclaimed collections, showcased in a setting that mirrors its celebrated retail spaces abroad.

Opening ahead of the festive season, the Pune store is more than just a launch; it’s a milestone that brings Indian shoppers closer to the brand’s globally recognized design philosophy. The store’s expansive layout not only enhances navigation but also creates an atmosphere of sophistication, making shopping an experience in itself.

Expansion Plans: A Pan-India Vision

India has been identified as a key strategic market. With its growing base of fashion-forward consumers and strong retail infrastructure, the country provides fertile ground for the brand’s global growth strategy. NEXT, in association with MJIPL’s licensed franchisee partners, has its sights set on major cities including Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, with several more in the pipeline.

In addition to standalone EBOs, the brand will also strengthen its presence through shop-in-shop formats at leading multi-brand retailers such as Shoppers Stop. Ten such shop-in-shops are already operational, and this hybrid expansion model will ensure that brand’s collections are accessible to a wide spectrum of Indian shoppers across different cities.

Renowned for unparalleled designs and quality across women’s, men’s, and children’s wear, NEXT has been instrumental in addressing consumer gaps in the fashion market. Specifically in children’s wear, the premium fashion segment remains underserved, and NEXT is perfectly poised to meet the aspirations of fashion-conscious parents.”

He further added, “We are proud to join hands with Shoppers Stop, a pioneer in premium departmental retail. Their strong legacy, deep consumer connections, and expansive footprint make them the ideal partner in bringing NEXT’s celebrated collections closer to Indian shoppers.”

A spokesperson also echoed this excitement: “The opening of our first NEXT store in Pune is a pivotal moment in our partnership with Myntra. We are thrilled to bring the NEXT retail experience directly to Indian customers, offering them firsthand access to our latest collections.”

Building an Omni-channel Presence

NEXT’s India debut is not limited to offline retail. Since its launch on the Myntra platform in 2023, the brand has experienced strong demand and sustained growth, underscoring the appetite of Indian consumers for international fashion labels. The opening of the Pune store complements this digital success, creating a holistic omni-channel experience that positions NEXT as a trusted fashion destination in India.
