One8 Commune

TheGlitz was hosted by One8 Commune Lower Parel, the newest outpost of Virat Kohli’s uber-cool dining brand, launched at the premium One World Central. And we absolutely loved it!

…From the moment you step in, the space whispers sophistication… the kind that blends global chic with intimate, moody warmth. Ornate lamps throw a golden haze across stylish tables, while flickering candles flirt with the shadows. The energy is relaxed but elegant, the music mellow, the conversations hushed. Every corner feels like a photo moment waiting to happen, and if you glance up, you’ll spot a cricket lover’s dream… Virat Kohli’s iconic “18” jersey, framed and glowing like a beacon of charisma and pride.

We were welcomed by the gracious One8 Commune team and assigned Aman as our server, whose command over the menu was impressive… he spoke with the precision of a sommelier and the heart of a foodie. On his recommendation, we dove headfirst into a lineup of flavours that hit all the right notes.

One8 Commune’s Delicious Cuisine

The Super Food Salad was a brilliant opener… vivid, crunchy, and alive with freshness; a bowl of edible energy featuring quinoa, greens, pomegranate, and a citrus zing that danced on the palate. The Mushroom Googly Dim Sum, Virat’s favourite, was a masterstroke… delicate skins bursting with a luxurious mushroom filling, earthy and subtle, a little umami firecracker that lingered with grace.

The Lamb Shammi Kebabs came next… golden-edged discs of finely minced lamb that melted on the tongue, accompanied by slivers of boiled egg, and paired with a mint chutney that cut through the richness like a breeze on a summer night. But the Sichuan Pepper Chicken? That was the knockout punch… fiery, tingling, crispy, and thrillingly addictive.

The mains were equally impressive. The Thai Green Curry was a silken affair… creamy coconut broth laced with fresh basil and just the right chilli hum, poured lovingly over blue jasmine rice. Each spoonful felt like being wrapped in velvet. But it was the Signature Khao Suey that stole our hearts… a stunning Burmese noodle bowl crowned with crispy bits, fresh herbs, tender chicken pieces, and a lime wedge that brightened it all. It was a dish full symphony of textures and flavours.

Dessert & More

Desserts arrived like stylish encores. The Campfire S’more was a nostalgic indulgence… roasted marshmallow, dark chocolate, and crisp biscuit layers held together with a whisper of smokiness, playful yet refined. And the Burnt Basque Cheesecake was all grown-up drama, charred and caramelised on top, meltingly soft inside, rich without being cloying, finished with a kiss of bitterness that made it sing.

Drinks?

A standout affair. The Berry Commune mocktail was a sparkling jewel of berries and mint… cool, tart, and utterly refreshing, just the way we liked it. Passionate Sour teased with its tropical mango-passionfruit base and a sly chilli-salt rim. The cocktails were crafted like couture. The One8 Commune… floral, citrusy, and topped with jasmine petals… was both elegant and bold. The Old Fashioned was timeless perfection; the Golden Harvest, a turmeric-kissed prosecco sparkle; and the New York Sour, dark, dramatic, and layered like a jazz riff.

The Chef joined us at the table, offering glimpses into his creative process, while Bartender Tanmay poured with quiet confidence and a keen understanding of palate. Service was seamless, warm, and unhurried, like dining with friends who know just when to top up your glass and when to let the magic simmer.

TheGlitz Verdict

One8 Commune Lower Parel is indeed a wonderful gourmet experience. A celebration of Virat Kohli’s personal aesthetic: stylish, bold, rooted, and unmissably global. If flavour, finesse, and a touch of cricket royalty are what you crave, this is the dining destination to circle in bold. No jersey required, but you just might leave wanting one.

There’s a certain kind of silence in the jungle that luxury hotels can never manufacture. A silence broken only by rustling leaves, distant birdsong, the soft crackle of a bonfire, and somewhere far away, the low warning call that signals a tiger is near. As dawn light spills across the golden forests of the National Park, the world suddenly feels slower, quieter, almost suspended in time — and perhaps that’s exactly why some of the world’s most visible people are escaping into the wild. At TheGlitz, we believe this is where luxury stops performing and starts feeling.
