Panerai Boutique at Jio World Plaza

It’s safe to say that Mumbai’s bustling Jio World Plaza ranks among the top-notch shopping grounds in India, which houses the majority of the global luxury brands for fashion’s upper echelon. Panerai has unveiled its new, glittering retail boutique here with a wide selection of Panerai timepieces from across all the brand’s collections: Luminor, Luminor Due, Radiomir, and Submersible. TheGlitz has more.

Beginning from the exterior of the boutique, the bold and distinct Panerai logo synchronises with the expansive transparent windows to foster a visual dialogue with the outside world, tantalising passers to peer inside the Panerai world. Occupying no less than 60 sq m, the lavish retail space reflects a blueprint that exudes the aesthetic and atmosphere of Panerai. The attention to detail starts with an embodiment of the brand’s center pillars: Italianity, the world of the sea, and technicity. The elements blend seamlessly to capture the essence of the Maison, taking patrons on a sensory journey that merges luxury, heritage, innovation, and the spirit of luxury.

Advancing further into the boutique, shoppers come across a strategically placed, fully operational, iconic luminescent clock, retro-illuminated to recall the Super-Luminova fluorescence—a shared luxury in all Panerai watches. A striking resemblance to the brand’s DNA and underscoring the enduring theme of luminescence.

And that’s not all; the discerning clientele entering the space is pervaded by a distinctive scent for the nose and music for the ears. Custom-made elements, such as a harmonious blend of concrete finishes, striking marble-effect flooring, wood veneer, and metal grids, separate the space into functional sections. The wood veneer and metal grids contribute to the boutique’s contemporary aesthetic. Additional references to blue to symbolise the sea and the numerous marine-inspired elements and details are expressions of the brand’s integral connection with the underwater and diving worlds.

The Collection

The layout is designed to narrate the brand’s story, accompanying customers through the different collections of the Panerai universe. The boutique houses timepieces from all Panerai’s collections: Luminor, Luminor Due, Radiomir, and Submersible. While Luminor, with its emblematic, patented crown-protecting device, represents the essence of Panerai, Luminor Due, with its thinner case, is the most versatile amongst the brand’s creations. The Radiomir, on the other hand, is all about Panerai’s legendary history and, with its refined and vintage details, is the most classic line. The Submersive finally captures the brand’s natural playground, the World of the Sea, with its diving watches developed for Modern Heroes.

The Experience

Visitors are greeted with warmth as familiar as home; the space, thoughtfully curated, serves not as a mere retail outpost but as the embodiment of an elevated experience—one centered around warmth, familiarity, and easy comfort. The space is as much a testament to Panerai’s commitment to excellence in craftsmanship as it is an homage to the brand’s heritage and identity, where every visitor is welcomed as an esteemed guest.

Enriching the experience exclusively available at the Jio World Plaza boutique in India is the Bar Italiano. The space not only functions as a café but also pays homage to the coffee tradition, inviting customers to savour it in a convivial setting. The blend of rich flavours with the tactile exploration of Panerai’s collection creates a multisensory shopping experience.

Panerai Journey

Founded in Florence in 1860 as a workshop, shop, and subsequently school of watchmaking for many decades, Panerai supplied the Italian Navy and its specialist diving corps in particular with precision instruments.

The designs developed by Panerai at that time, including the Luminor and Radiomir, were covered by the Military Secrets Act for many years and launched on the international market only after the brand was acquired by the Richemont Group in 1997.

Today, Panerai develops and crafts its movements and watches at its Neuchatel manufacture. The latter are a seamless melding of Italian design flair and history with Swiss horological expertise. Panerai collections are sold across the world through an exclusive network of distributors and Panerai boutiques.
