This home is more than a place to live – it’s a masterpiece for those who seek sophistication, comfort, and the ultimate connection to the coast. In an exclusive interview with TheGlitz, founders and principal designers of Beyond Designs Sachin & Neha Gupta talk about Beyond Designs, inspirations and coastal luxury.

Beyond Designs Unplugged!

What was the primary inspiration behind this stunning coastal residential project, and how did you ensure it seamlessly blends with the natural surroundings?

The holiday home was primarily inspired from the terrain it is located in – the vast blue expanse, the azure sky and the sand were on our mind as we put together the design plan. Also, the fact that the home is located in Goa influenced us to incorporate hints of Portuguese design. So you see a sublime interplay of blue-and-white colour palette, natural textures, subtle prints and Portuguese mosaic art in the design scheme.

Seaside Bliss: Beyond Designs creation

Seaside living offers unique challenges. How did you approach creating a home that not only embraces the beauty of the ocean but also provides comfort and functionality for everyday living?

By veering a bit away from our maximalist approach to design, we have created a minimalistic, yet detail-rich haven where function and low-maintenance are key. The white and blue palette evokes a serene atmosphere, and the earthy wooden notes impart warmth and an inviting appeal.

Beyond Designs is known for its exceptional attention to detail. What were some of the key design elements or materials you incorporated into this project to enhance the feeling of luxury and tranquility?
Rich natural materials and intricately handcrafted furniture pieces and accessories imbue the spaces with a feeling of luxury and tranquility. The artistry of carved wood panels, custom-made furniture pieces, stately four-poster beds with elegant headboards and bespoke lights, perfectly aligns with the signature style of Beyond Designs. These elements come together to weave an authentic story of beauty and harmony.

How did you strike the perfect balance between creating a space that feels opulent while maintaining a sense of warmth and livability for the homeowners?
A carefully considered blend of the classic and contemporary elements, opulent and rustic materials, glossy and raw finishes creates a balanced environment. Wood tones of wall panelings, furniture and ornate mirrors infuse the luxury interiors with warmth and authenticity. Lustrous marbles and local stones add naturalness, while rich textiles and sumptuous textures add layers of cosiness and splendor, creating inviting spaces.

Coastal homes often have a special connection with their environment. How did you ensure that the home not only maximized the sea views but also fostered a harmonious relationship between the interior and the outdoor landscape?

Apart from the large windows and balconies that offer the best views of the sea and connect the home with nature outside, it is the material and colour palettes that foster a harmonious relationship between the interiors and exteriors. Natural materials such as wood, marble, locally sourced stones and fabrics seamlessly align the interiors with the outdoors. Shades of blue, white and peach subtly recall the colours found in the vicinity. The charming outdoor bathroom fitted with a bathtub and shrouded in privacy with abundant greenery is another way to be one with nature. Also, the rooftop infinity pool is a great place to unwind and experience the serene atmosphere and feel the fresh breeze.
