The Hitchki Bollywood-inspired Experience

From the moment we stepped into Hitchki BKC, we were immersed in the vibrant Bollywood-inspired atmosphere, complete with perfect starters and the buzz of a new bar menu that set the tone for the evening. The energy was electric – filled with laughter, great conversations, and an endless stream of delicious food and drinks, each more exciting than the last. Every dish and drink had a fun Bollywood twist, making us feel like we were part of the glamour and excitement of the movies. It wasn’t just a night out; it was an unforgettable filmi experience, brimming with flavours, memories, and plenty of fun!
A Feast for the Taste Buds

Hitchki’s new food menu was a rollercoaster of flavours, taking us on a journey through Bollywood with every bite. The starters set the tone for the night, and the delicious Bao Bao Here & Bao Bao There was the perfect way to kick things off. The Old Macdonald’s Dairy Farm Paneer tossed in Chettinad masala and served with gunpowder aioli was a playful fusion dish that was as delicious as it was unique. We couldn’t resist the Chicken Chettinad option – it was spicy, rich, and absolutely divine.
Another standout starter was the mouth-watering Tandoori Murg Gulmohar, which featured chicken drumsticks stuffed with chicken kheema and marinated in a reshmi marinade. Served alongside garlic labneh, the tender chicken and bold flavors were absolutely delectable.
The Namma Bengaluru, featuring masala uttapam tacos, paneer ghee roast, and applam gunpowder chura, took us straight to the divine food of South India. But we couldn’t resist adding Chicken Ghee Roast – a glorious pairing for a dish that was both comforting and packed with punch.
For those who love a crispy snack with a spicy twist, the Saras Dabeli Kachori was a perfect choice. A mix of Gujarati snacks with a zingy Kalakhatta salsa, this dish was a hit, as was the Coorgi Appe, with bhuna roast paneer stuffed in soft appe and served with coconut curry dipping sauce. And if you’re a fan of Chinese food, the Cantonese Green Bean, tossed with burnt chili-garlic and Sichuan pepper, was a delicious combination of spice and savory goodness. We thought it was truly super.
The Main Course: Bold, Flavourful, and Cooked to Perfection
By the time we moved to the main course, Hitchki had already set the bar high, and the food kept impressing. The Bihari Kebab, with its dry masala rub and tandoori chicken, was paired beautifully with a tangy tamatar chutney. Every bite was packed with bold flavours that had us coming back for more.
The silky smooth Butter Chicken Seekh Kebab, featuring minced chicken spiced with makhani sauce, was another showstopper. It was creamy, flavourful, and perfectly cooked. Another blockbuster was the Caesar Chicken Tikka, marinated in a parmesan malai sauce and served with garlic aioli – it was indeed a fresh twist on the classic, and the Herb Grilled Chicken brought together garlic, thyme, rosemary, and basil, delivering a perfectly charred and herby experience.

For those craving something with a bit of spice, the zesty Firecracker Chicken was a fiery option, wok-tossed with burnt chili and Sichuan pepper. Meanwhile, the Itna Makhana Kyu Hai Bhai, featuring superfood makhana nuts and mixed veggies in a bhuna masala curry, served with ghee tandoori roti, was a comforting vegetarian option that hit all the right notes.
The Pressure Cooker Biryani, served in a whistling pressure cooker, had everyone talking. The aromatic rice, golden onions, and herbs, paired with boondi raita, made it a dish to remember. And for those who wanted something heartier, the Chicken Tikka Biryani was just as indulgent. However, since we were stuffed to the gills, we really couldn’t do justice to it.
A Sweet Bollywood Finale: Desserts That Dazzled
As if the food wasn’t enough, Hitchki treated us to a dessert platter that was an absolute blockbuster. The A-G-O-G Parle-G was a nostalgic delight… a crumble pie made with Parle-G biscuits, chai cheesecake, and Kismi toffee caramel. It was a sweet, comforting dish that had us smiling with every bite. Even though we were so full, we sneaked in a few delectable spoons of this amazing dessert, and it was sheer divine.

Then there was the Brownie Lava Chimney, a rich and gooey chocolate brownie filled with molten white chocolate cheesecake sauce. This dessert was decadence in its finest form — a true indulgence.
The Angry Bird was another sweet highlight, featuring a chocolate bomb-shell with banana cake, pecan nut stuffing, and salted caramel. It was as dramatic as it sounded and left us in awe.
And of course, the Do Dil Mil Rahe Hai, a dessert that combined gulab jamun stuffed inside a Shahi Tukda roll, paired with lacchedar rabdi and kaju kishmish granola crumb, had us swooning with its rich flavours and textures.
The Bar Menu: Bollywood in a Glass
The new bar menu at Hitchki was just as exciting as the food, bringing together vibrant cocktails that mirrored the bold flavors of the evening. The drinks flowed throughout the night, each one more exciting than the last. A highlight of the evening was meeting Sonali Mullick, Head of Operations & Mixologist at Bayroute and Hitchki. She not only crafted the fun, delicious concoctions but also gave each drink its quirky Bollywood-inspired name, adding an extra layer of charm to the entire experience. Her creativity and passion for mixing flavors were evident in every drink, making the night even more memorable!
We started with Gulaabo, a fun and playful drink with rum, infused gulabi bubblegum, and coconut, garnished with a desiccated rim. It was as sweet as it was unique, giving us that nostalgic Bollywood vibe from the first sip.
For those who wanted something a little more complex, Raag brought together tequila, pineapple, coconut, coffee, and coke for a deliciously chocolaty twist that took us straight back to the golden era of Bollywood romance.
Desi Girl was a true showstopper with tequila, orange marmalade, desi Maggi masala punch, and a red wine float. Served with chakna, this drink was a fun mix of bold and comforting, much like the iconic Bollywood heroine it was named after.
The 3 Idiots cocktail, featuring tequila, aam panna, and cumin spice, was a zesty and refreshing option, while Kokum Me Tequila Mila Ke combined silver tequila, kokum, narangi juice, and black salt for a refreshing drink that was as delightful as it was unique.
If you’re looking for something visually stunning, the Gulabi Saadi was an Instagram-worthy drink made with tequila, pink gin, and quinine splash, garnished with cucumber ribbons and butterfly pea flower. It changed colour with a stir and was as beautiful as it was tasty.

Other memorable drinks included the bold Pehle Bhi Main, a rich concoction of tequila, gin, coffee, and marham marham flavour, served with dome smoke and a cinnamon stick, and the Pass Pass, which brought together gin, absinthe, and mukhwas in a refreshing, fun mix.
For those feeling adventurous, Satte Pe Satta combined seven spirits and wine in a massive LIIT, and the Don cocktail was a heady mix of vodka, feni, coconut, banarasi paan, and strawberry poppers that left us wanting more. And the Amar Akbar Amandeep Anthony was a true crowd-pleaser – a massive blend of white rum, vodka, gin, feni, coconut syrup, and sprite, celebrating unity with every sip.
The Ultimate Party Drink: Tallii Main Tallii Ho Gayi
The Tallii Main Tallii Ho Gayi was hands-down one of the absolute highlights of the night. With whisky, white rum, vodka, gin, tequila, Aperol, and spiced jaggery syrup… all topped with dome smoke… this drink was an absolute blockbuster. It was so bold and fun, it almost had us “tallii” before we knew it! But the fun didn’t stop there… Next came little tippling glasses of Mood Banaao, generously topped with Baileys, and let’s just say… the night was officially in full swing!
