TheGlitz ‘Super Woman’ Ridhi Mehra is indeed an achiever. A multi-talented fashion designer, she has seen a lot of bouquets, setbacks but being TheGlitz ‘Super Woman’ that she is, Ridhi avers, “There have been quite an inevitable amount of setbacks throughout. But each one has only strengthened my belief in the fact that solutions come together with the problem.” And solutions she found and achieved many more milestones, from opening her flagship stores to showcasing at Fashion Weeks, this fab designer has done it all. So put your hands together for TheGlitz ‘Super Woman’ Ridhi Mehra.

Your journey has had many momentous milestones. Could you tell us about your life-changing journey that has moulded you to be what you are today?
I feel every experience teaches you a lot and I’ve learned a great deal in the last 10 years of my career. The most important takeaway that I value is to keep looking forward. To keep moving on with the best intent and eventually bear witness to things falling into place. Of course, one has to work towards it and doing your bit always pays. Second, comes your support system which has to be great. I feel your team and family make a huge impact on your performance and growth. Thirdly, learn to persevere. Keep working towards your goal with a clear mind and you’ll surely get there.

Could you list 3 of your major achievements?

  • Each flagship store counts as a major achievement that I’ve accomplished and am truly proud and appreciative of them all.
  • Showcasing at Fashion Weeks is another milestone that I’m highly grateful for.
  • Completing a decade in the industry would be the icing-on-the-cake achievement that has had me filled with overwhelm, pride, and honour.

What are the setbacks you have faced? How did you tackle these setbacks or challenges? And what lesson have you learned from it?
There have been quite an inevitable amount of setbacks throughout. But each one has only strengthened my belief in the fact that solutions come together with the problem. Dedication and perseverance will take you where you wish. Sure setbacks hurt but the trick is to not get demotivated.

When you look back, what are the three qualities in you that have helped you become what you are today?
Patience, hard work and gratitude.

Who are the people who have been the wind behind your wings?
It definitely has to be my mom and aunt. They were the ones who started this business. They trusted me and stood there as my pillars through the entire process right from when I was only beginning.
My father, my brother and then my husband. They’ve all equally supported me throughout. They’ve been there through thick and thin and we’ve seen it all, both the good and the bad, as one unit.

Lastly, if there was a quote to define you, what would it be?
Not so much of a definition but a quote I resonate with quite a lot is: Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.

"It is the simple pleasures that help us step away from screens and reconnect with people and nature," he says. "The ubiquitous chai break is a perfect example of engaging with people while also giving a break to our eyes."
