Your journey has had many momentous milestones. Could you tell us about the life-changing milestones that have molded you to be what you are today?

Launching my Instagram page @caughtcrafthanded at the age of 76 marked a significant turning point in my life. With the encouragement of my granddaughter, Yukti, I transformed my passion for crocheting into a thriving business. Receiving my first paycheck of Rs 350 brought immense joy, affirming that it’s never too late to embark on a new journey and find success.

What are the setbacks you have faced? How did you tackle these setbacks or challenges? And what lesson have you learned from it?

While age might be considered a setback in the entrepreneurial world, I viewed it as an opportunity to showcase the beauty of creativity at any age. Tackling the challenges involved embracing technology and adapting to the digital landscape. The lesson learned is that resilience and passion can turn setbacks into opportunities for growth, proving that age is just a number.

When you look back, what are the three qualities in you that have helped you become what you are today?

Reflecting on my journey, three qualities stand out – creativity, adaptability, and an unyielding spirit. Creativity fuelled my crocheting endeavours, adaptability allowed me to navigate the digital realm, and an unyielding spirit kept me motivated to pursue my passion despite challenges. These qualities have been the pillars of my success.

Who are the people who have been the wind behind your wings?

The primary force behind my entrepreneurial success is undoubtedly my granddaughter, Yukti. Her encouragement and support provided the wind beneath my wings, propelling me to launch @caughtcrafthanded on Instagram. The overwhelming response and global acclaim for my crochet creations further fueled my determination.

Lastly, if there was a quote to define you, what would it be?

“In the art of crochet, every stitch is a story, and every creation is a masterpiece of love.” This quote resonates with my journey, emphasizing the storytelling aspect of my creations and the love poured into every stitch. It encapsulates the essence of my work and the joy it brings to others.
