Dr. Vandana

Dr. Vandana Jaglan… A celebrated academic, design researcher, and now the founder of conscious kidswear brand Cookie Pookie, she is a woman who wears many hats that too with grace and unwavering intent.

When motherhood brought her face-to-face with the lack of sustainable, high-quality clothing options for children in India, Dr. Vandana Jaglan didn’t settle for less or compromise, she set out to change the narrative. As a mother, she knew that children deserve more than just cute prints, they deserve clothing that’s gentle on their skin, kind to the planet, and crafted with care. When the market fell short, she didn’t just adapt, she innovated.

Armed with nearly two decades of experience in design education, her career is a tapestry woven with rich threads of academic excellence, cultural insight, and creative leadership. From shaping young design minds at NIFT and University of Delhi, to leading craft clusters in Uttar Pradesh and contributing to national curriculum development, Dr. Vandana has always championed thoughtful, conscious design.

With Cookie Pookie, she brought this vision to life… merging her professional expertise with personal conviction. Every piece is rooted in comfort, sustainability, and aesthetics, reflecting her belief that even the smallest wardrobes can make a big difference. Cookie Pookie is more than just a label… it’s a love letter from a designer-mother to children everywhere, stitched with purpose and passion.

But her most cherished title? “Mom”. Beyond her impressive academic and professional achievements lies a quieter, deeper triumph, the journey of motherhood, marked by love, resilience, and unshakable hope. When Dr. Vandana welcomed her daughter into the world as a pre-term baby, her life shifted in the most profound way. The early days were filled with medical appointments, sleepless nights, and cautious optimism…each ounce gained, each tiny milestone, a silent victory.

Yet through this delicate and demanding chapter, she discovered a new kind of strength… a strength rooted in vulnerability, patience, and unconditional love. Every giggle, every first word, every gaze of recognition became a celebration. Those seemingly small moments? To her, they eclipsed awards and accolades, standing as living proof of perseverance and the quiet power of motherhood.

For Dr. Vandana, her daughter’s journey has mirrored her own: a story of slow, steady growth and boundless potential. And in nurturing her child, she has also nurtured herself… finding joy in the present, meaning in the struggle, and gratitude in every breath.

In an exclusive interview with TheGlitz, TheGlitzMegaStar Mom Dr. Vandana shares her heartfelt reflections on balancing career and crib, Cookie Pookie, how her daughter’s strength inspired her own, and why she believes every mother shines in her own radiant way.

Dr. Vandana

-What’s been the most rewarding part of your motherhood journey so far?

The fact that I have the capability to blossom a gift of our life into this beautiful little being eagerly exploring the world who wants to embrace all the new things and to witness all this happening right in front of me is so fulfilling. I am living each day as a reward.

-How do you tackle challenges, and what are three milestones that define your journey?

The biggest challenge was that my baby was pre-term and the initial days were full of worries, doctors’ visits, constant monitoring. But, my daughter is a strong baby right from the start. She progressed quickly. From crossing those small limits of gaining the optimum weight to taking her baby steps, we have achieved many milestones. And that first smile, that moment of connection when her eyes lit up seeing me – those are the moments that stay etched in my heart forever.

-How do you strike that beautiful balance between work and home life?

While the internal struggle of feeling pulled between work and home is real for mothers, my husband and family have been my rock. They’ve not only provided practical help but also constantly encouraged me to nurture my professional self. Their belief in me, especially during the challenging postpartum period, has empowered me to manage everything.

My TheGlitz quote is…

Dr. Vandana

My vibe is gratitude and glee!

For me, Motherhood is a full of joy. Every mother is a star, shining in their unique way, and I’m loving my radiant journey.
