Alokparna Sengupta, Managing Director and Vice-President of Humane World for Animals India (Formerly called Humane Society International/India)

Compassionate, fearless, and deeply driven by purpose, Alokparna Sengupta has dedicated her life to giving a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves. As the Managing Director and Vice-President of Humane World for Animals India, she stands at the forefront of animal protection and welfare advocacy in India — championing kindness, justice, and systemic change with unwavering conviction.

With over 15 years of experience in animal protection, Alokparna has played a pivotal role in shaping conversations around animal testing bans, farm animal welfare, and legal reforms. A biotechnology graduate from Osmania University and a law postgraduate from National Law University Delhi, she seamlessly blends science, law, empathy, and activism into a powerful force for change. Beyond policy rooms and advocacy campaigns, she has also trained judicial magistrates, police personnel, and advocates in animal law — proving that true leadership is rooted in education, awareness, and humanity.

But behind the accomplished changemaker lies a woman whose life is equally defined by love at home — as a mother to her four-year-old son Auro, and a devoted pet parent to her adopted cats and dog. Interestingly, it was not motherhood, but leadership itself that surprised her the most. What she once believed was about authority and control evolved into something far more profound: authenticity, vulnerability, and emotional connection.

In a world consumed by hustle and performance, Alokparna has mastered the art of presence. Whether it is sharing desserts and stories with her son, taking longer walks with her dog, or indulging her cats with belly rubs and treats, she finds joy in slowing down and embracing life’s simplest moments. Motherhood, she believes, teaches one invaluable truth that no boardroom ever can — that nothing meaningful should ever be rushed.

Passionate about psychology, feminism, anti-caste movements, and deeply conscious living, Alokparna embodies a modern woman who leads with empathy while remaining unapologetically herself. As a celebrated face of TheGlitzMegaSuperMom 2026, she represents a new definition of strength — one that allows space for softness, individuality, compassion, and grace.

…Because for Alokparna Sengupta, being a “SuperMom” is not about perfection. It is about embracing the beautiful chaos of life, loving fiercely despite heartbreak, and showing up authentically — both as a leader and as a woman.

Over To Alokparna Sengupta, Managing Director and Vice-President, Humane World for Animals India (Formerly called Humane Society International/India)

Alokparna

You wear many hats — human mother, mother to a dog and cat, leader, achiever. Which role has surprised you the most, and why?

You would think it would be a mother but it is actually that of a leader. It was a difficult one and challenged me in areas where I was most confident. However, I grew into it, and it also gave me opportunity to be more of myself and be more authentic and vulnerable. Leadership, unlike what you had thought, was less about authority and power and more about being authenticity and connection.

In a world that celebrates hustle, how do you create meaningful moments of pause and connection with your children?

…By shutting out the noise and the guilt, and being present in the moment and indulging my children, whether human or canine or feline. A shared dessert along with a story with my son, a longer walk with my dog and more belly rubs and more treats for my cats and long brushing sessions

What is one life lesson motherhood has taught you that no business school or boardroom ever could?

That nothing should be hurried, there is a time for everything.

If your children had to describe you in three words, what do you think they would say… and what would you hope they say?

Warm, love, funny

What does being “TheGlitzMegaSuperMom 2026” mean to you in today’s world — perfection, resilience, reinvention, or something else entirely?

It means being true to yourself and giving yourself the grace to be yourself and allowing yourself space, time and moments to enjoy being just who you are individually, also while enjoying the crazy experience that is motherhood!
