Haus of Bars by SpeedX has become a game-changer in the bar design space. What was the inspiration behind starting this unique venture, and how has the brand evolved since its inception?
SpeedX was born from our passion to make every bar experience smoother, faster and more enjoyable for everyone .Through our exploration, we discovered that the bar setup itself—alongside the bartender’s skill—impacts service speed and quality. This led to the creation of SpeedX, a brand that quickly became known for designing bars that serve drinks faster and operations to be smoother ,with over 850 installations across India.
In 2020, when the pandemic shifted life indoors, we brought the bar experience home with ModelX, our first fully equipped Home Bar. By 2023, we evolved into Haus of Bars by SpeedX, crafting functional yet aesthetic bar cabinets tailored to Indian homes. Each model ensures a complete bar experience with in-built refrigerators, cocktail stations, ice storage and more. Our bars not only elevate home entertainment but are stylish additions to any living space, perfect for both relaxed evenings and lively gatherings.
Since its inception, SpeedX has positioned itself as a leader in the bar design space by continually innovating with modern aesthetics and convenience, appealing to a clientele seeking luxury with functionality. Today, each bar design stands as a testament to our commitment to redefine home entertainment, bringing quality and ease into the heart of every home.

Luxury and functionality are at the core of your designs. How do you ensure that every bar you craft strikes the perfect balance between aesthetic appeal and practical usability?

Our approach begins with understanding the diverse needs of our clients, recognizing that a bar should look both a chic centrepiece and practical space for effortless entertaining.

Each bar design is crafted with meticulous attention to both aesthetics and usability. We focus on selecting premium materials and finishes that enhance the visual appeal while ensuring durability and ease of maintenance. Every element, from the bar fridge to bottle display cabinet and ice storage, is chosen for functionality, allowing users to access everything they need without leaving their setup. By integrating features like dedicated cocktail stations, bottle openers and towel holders, we create a comprehensive experience that eliminates the need to make frequent trips to the kitchen.

We also keep the Indian home setting in mind, creating designs that fit seamlessly into various spaces, from compact apartments to larger homes. Our team tests each layout for efficiency, ensuring that items are placed for easy access and every inch is optimized for a smooth experience.

You’ve worked on both commercial establishments and high-end residential projects. How do you approach designing bars for such different environments, and what trends are shaping the future of bar design in each space?

Designing bars for commercial establishments and residential spaces requires a thoughtful approach to match the unique demands and ambience of each environment.

For Commercial Bars, functionality, durability and service flow are key. We focus on maximizing efficiency, ensuring that bartenders can serve patrons quickly and seamlessly. This means integrating high-capacity storage, easy-access bottle racks and durable materials that withstand heavy use. The design process at SpeedX is impressively thorough and ensures that each bar is not only functional but also tailored to its unique concept and operational needs. By engaging both the promoter and the bar team, we are able to create a design that reflects the venue’s vision while also supporting the practical requirements of the bar program. The addition of a virtual walkthrough is an excellent innovation, allowing the bartenders to “test drive” their workspace, which likely improves the overall flow and efficiency once the bar is operational.

In contrast, Home Bars prioritize a blend of luxury and functionality, tailored to fit Indian home settings. Home bars often focus on versatility, with features like In-Built Refrigeration, Speed Rails, Wine Racks, Display Cabinet and Cocktail Station that integrate seamlessly into living spaces. Homeowners are also drawn to premium materials, from polished wood and marble finishes to elegant metallic accents, creating a sophisticated focal point in the home.

Emerging trends in commercial spaces include sustainable materials and energy-efficient appliances, reflecting a growing environmental focus. In Home Bars, multifunctional designs cater to various entertainment needs are increasingly popular. Technology is playing a bigger role in home and commercial bar spaces. How does Haus of Bars incorporate smart features or tech innovations into its designs?

At SpeedX, we recognize the growing importance of technology in enhancing both the functionality and experience of Home and Commercial Bars. Our designs incorporate smart features that blend seamlessly with the aesthetics, offering users convenience and efficiency.

Today, however, bars have become essential revenue centers in F&B establishments, and with that importance has come a more thoughtful approach to design. Ergonomics is now front and center, with precise attention to counter heights, depths, and spacing to ensure efficiency and comfort for both bartenders and guests. This means a focus on making the workspace easy to navigate and operate in, which, in turn, improves service speed and quality.
Beyond ergonomics, there’s also a strong emphasis on innovation in equipment. Modern bar setups now integrate specialized apparatus and technology to support creative and technique-driven service, like cocktail stations with temperature-controlled storage, sous-vide machines for infusions, and various other tools that cater to the increasingly sophisticated tastes of customers. This shift has led to Indian bars becoming not only functional spaces but also visually engaging and experiential, providing guests with an elevated, immersive experience.
