The Hearts & Arrows Collection made its Bangalore debut in late November, and the launch happened quietly in Sadashivanagar. That was intentional. Zaveri Bros Diamonds & Gold, the Coimbatore-based house founded in 1993 (not to be confused with other Zaveri jewellers across India), isn’t a store for impulse buyers. It’s for those who know the difference between a diamond and the diamond. Between jewellery that glitters and jewellery that endures.

If you haven’t heard of Hearts & Arrows, you’re not alone. Most diamond polishers haven’t either. The cut, which originated in Japan in the 1980s, is so rare that even on the international level, only select high-end stores carry it. Naresh Chetan, Co-Founder, Zaveri Bros, spent months, really – searching for a diamond polisher who could replicate the exact symmetrical pattern: eight hearts and eight arrows visible through a specialised viewer. The pattern signifies what gemologists call “super-ideal” optical symmetry, where every facet aligns with perfect precision. The kind of sparkle that makes you stop mid-sentence.

The first order we fulfilled,” Naresh told me during a quiet moment at the launch, filled me with pride. Everything that we had worked for had come down to that one piece. “He’s not being dramatic. Finding a polisher who even understood what he wanted was a feat. Most had never heard of the cut. He visited factory after factory until he found the right partner.

This is the Zaveri approach: relentless in craft, uncompromising in quality. Naresh and his wife, Sangeeta, who co-founded the brand, built Zaveri Bros on a simple dilemma they kept hearing from women: the choice between expensive jewellery for special occasions and everyday pieces of inferior quality. Zaveri eliminates that choice. Their jewellery is modern, fine, and wearable daily. They also excel in bespoke commissions and revamping heirloom pieces – preserving  the soul of a family treasure while making it wearable for a new generation.

The Bangalore store, housed in a heritage Chettinad façade, reflects this duality. The ambience is warm and exclusive. The aesthetic is a fusion of modern ease and traditional grandeur – lightweight classics for everyday elegance and statement pieces for milestone moments. No two designs are alike. Each piece, like the woman wearing it, has a story.

The November inauguration was intimate by design. The Mysuru Royal Family lit the ceremonial lamp. Models walked the ramp in designs for men and women. High tea was impeccable. But what stood out was this: despite the exclusivity, the sales register was active. Buyers weren’t just browsing – they were buying, commissioning custom orders. One of Zaveri’s most loyal customers, a decades-long client from Coimbatore, travelled to Bangalore for the opening. That kind of devotion doesn’t happen by accident.

Naresh’s family migrated from Sindh during Partition, journeying from north to south before settling in Coimbatore. The business started small, family-run, built on trust and an unshakeable commitment to quality. Four decades later, that foundation hasn’t wavered. Prices are transparent. Policies are clear. And the craftsmanship? Unmatched.

With Valentine’s Day approaching and wedding season in full swing, now is the time to visit. New designs are arriving. Custom commissions are being fulfilled. And if you’re in the market for something truly rare – a Hearts & Arrows piece that exists nowhere else in Bangalore – Zaveri Bros is your only destination.

This isn’t fast fashion. It’s jewellery with a conscience, a story, and a cut so precise it borders on alchemy. Quality and uniqueness carry a price, yes. But here, it’s justified.

Bangalore should be proud. The Hearts & Arrows cut, a legend in gemology circles, is finally here. And Zaveri Bros is the only one offering it.
