Amit Sadh – actor par excellence, avid motorcycle lover, heartfelt humane, nature nurturer, dog daddy…
…As the Editor-in-chief of TheGlitz and former Editor of Stardust Magazine, I, Sumita Chakraborty, have interacted with top stars and celebrities, but very few have left such a lasting impression on me as Amit Sadh. As an actor, we all know that Amit is a powerhouse of talent, known for his versatility and remarkable performances across films and series. However, it’s not just his skill in front of the camera that has captivated me.
Over a period of time, I realized that Amit is one of the rare Bollywood actors who, after finishing his work, doesn’t go back to the flashy, lavish celebrity lifestyle, stars are accustomed to, instead, he embarks on solo motorcycle journeys to remote and unexplored corners of India… like he went to the pristine, unexplored terrains of Leh-Ladakh for the series Motorcyles Saved My Life (MSML).
Amit Sadh & His Love for Nature, Adventure and Animals
I’ve always been deeply impressed by his passion for adventure, and more so by how he navigates life. His experiences in Motorcycles Saved My Life (MSML) were a revelation. The show beautifully captures not just his love for motorcycles, but also his deep connection to the world and the people around him. Watching Amit push his limits, go beyond the known, and explore untouched landscapes spoke volumes about his courage, curiosity, and love for the untamed.
What’s even more remarkable is that through all of this, Amit remains grounded. He is true to his roots, humble in his interactions, and unlike many others in the industry, he has not let fame define him. His authenticity is truly rare. Add to that his immense love for his dogs (we share that in common)… you see another side of him when he is with his dogs – one that’s nurturing, compassionate, and deeply connected to the simpler joys in life. Amit’s bond with his pets, especially his dogs, is heartwarming. His dogs aren’t just animals; they are his family, and their unconditional loyalty and love are a reflection of his own values.
Amit Sadh, the man: Honorable Humanitarian
I truly believe that Amit is one actor who has gone beyond his star persona, he has nurtured his individual self and his series Motorcycles Saved My Life (MSML) aptly showcases that and more… In this feature, I am honoured to share Amit’s amazing Motorcycles Saved My Life (MSML) journey.
Amit Sadh About His Journey in His Own Words
“When I first set out on Motorcycles Saved My Life (MSML), I didn’t expect it to be more than just a ride. Season 1, with my 5288-kilometre solo expedition, took me from the hustle of Mumbai to the breathtaking beauty of Kinnaur, Spiti, Zanskar Valley, and Leh. It wasn’t about conquering extreme weather or battling the elements; it was about embarking on a journey that tested my endurance, yes, but more importantly, my soul. The adventure allowed me to connect with nature, the people I met along the way, and most significantly, with myself. It was transformative. It became more than just a ride—it was a path to discovering my true essence.
Amit Sadh: Season 2 MSML
Now, as I continue on this journey in Season 2 of MSML, I find myself exploring even more remote and untouched parts of Leh and Ladakh. Once again, I’m riding my trusted Triumph Tiger, venturing beyond the familiar roads, leaving the tarmac behind. If Season 1 was about discovery, then this season is all about embracing the unknown. It’s about stepping beyond the boundaries of comfort and finding beauty in the places that remain raw, timeless, and untouched.
The landscapes I’m riding through are unlike anything I’ve ever encountered—remote villages, vast, open plains, and spots so secluded it feels like I’ve reached the edge of the earth. These places haven’t changed in centuries, and it’s in these hidden corners of the world that I’ve uncovered life and cultures that thrive far away from the spotlight. It’s in these places that I’ve discovered what MSML is truly about—the ability to go beyond just passing through and immerse myself in the life and stories that exist off the beaten path.
Amit Sadh: Life Lessons
One of the first stops on this journey was Tso Kar Lake, where I explored the Thukje village. The experience was raw and real, a place where people are intimately connected to the land. From there, I traveled deeper into the Kharnak Valley, where I met Chopel Ji, the Goba, a leader of the nomadic people of Thukje. In his remote settlement, I learned about their way of life—resilient, sacrificial, and deeply rooted in the land. What struck me the most was their humility. They don’t ask for recognition or admiration—they live in harmony with nature, and that alone is enough.
But this journey is about more than just ticking off destinations—it’s about discovering a deeper connection with the world around me. The bond I share with my bike, the road, and the people I meet is real. And alongside that, my love for animals, especially my dogs, adds another layer to this journey.
I’ve always had a deep bond with my dogs, and they have been an integral part of my life. Whenever I embark on my rides, my heart is always pulled back to them. My dogs are not just pets; they are my companions, my family. They are loyal, intuitive, and they remind me of the simple joys in life—the moments of peace and calm that come from unconditional love. They are a source of comfort, especially when I’m away on my travels, and their absence is felt deeply. Yet, their presence in my heart keeps me grounded no matter where I go.
On this journey, I rode through remote plains where wild animals roamed freely. The sight of blue sheep, kiyangs (wild horses), and herds of goats brought me closer to the wilderness that my dogs and I share a bond with. There’s something special about being in nature, surrounded by these creatures, that makes me feel more connected to everything.
One of the standout moments of the ride was my visit to Merak Village, on the southern shores of Pangong Lake. It’s a tranquil spot far from the crowds, where I camped beside the lake and braved its icy waters. The stillness of the lake, surrounded by the grandeur of the mountains, was surreal. And just when I thought the beauty of the place couldn’t get any better, I was treated to a rare double rainbow—an unexpected gift from nature that left me in awe.
Throughout this journey, I’ve met fellow riders, from locals to international adventurers. We’ve shared stories, experiences, and the universal connection that comes with being on the road. It’s a reminder that motorcycles aren’t just about the journey; they are about the bonds we create with others, the friendships formed, and the experiences that unite us all.
This season, I also visited sacred Buddhist sites in places like Sasspol and Alchi. While exploring ancient meditation caves, I noticed something disturbing—people had scribbled their names on the walls. At first, it bothered me. But then, I reminded myself that sometimes, the most profound moments come when we are present, without distraction, fully immersing ourselves in the beauty and stillness around us.
Motorcycles Saved My Life is more than just about the ride. It’s about the freedom, the joy, and the life-changing experiences that come from living fully in each moment. It’s about the connections we make with the land, the people, and the animals we encounter. It’s about embracing the journey, whether it’s on two wheels or in the company of those we love.
I’m grateful to have Reise Moto as a partner this season, as their tagline, The Joy of Riding, mirrors my own philosophy. Riding isn’t just about the destination—it’s about feeling connected to the world, the bike, and the adventure. Together, we’re spreading that joy with everyone who joins us on this journey.
The road ahead is still full of surprises, and I can’t wait to share more of this journey with all of you. So, here’s to life as a ride—embracing every moment, every twist, every turn. Let’s continue this adventure together, on the road, and in the hearts of the people and animals we love.”
