Set against an atmosphere charged with ambition, artistry, and legacy, Whistling Woods International (WWI), India’s premier institute for film, communication, and creative technologies, hosted its 17th Annual Convocation Ceremony, celebrating the graduating Class of 2025. Over 300 students crossed a defining threshold, stepping from classrooms into the creative industries with vision, voice, and purpose. For TheGlitz, this was not merely a convocation… it was a glimpse into the future of Indian films, communication and storytelling.

The Future Takes the Spotlight

Long celebrated as a powerhouse of creative excellence, Whistling Woods International continues to stand apart through its rare synthesis of academic rigour and immersive industry exposure. Where Craft Meets Conscious Creativity

The ceremony’s most resonant moment came with the conferment of the prestigious Maestro Awards upon two stalwarts of Indian cinema – Anil Mehta, the master cinematographer whose visual language has redefined Indian filmmaking, and Prosenjit Chatterjee, the celebrated actor whose body of work spans decades, industries, and transformative performances. The honours were presented by Subhash Ghai, Founder and Chairman of Whistling Woods International, in the presence of keynote speaker Aparna Purohit, CEO, Aamir Khan Productions.

Honouring Legends Who Shape Cinema

Addressing the graduating students, Anil Mehta reflected on the demanding yet rewarding path of creative pursuit, sharing, “The path may be arduous, but every step forward shapes the dream.”

Prosenjit Chatterjee followed with a reminder of cinema’s enduring soul, saying, “Technology may lead the way, but it is the heart of cinema – faith, honesty, and passion – that truly creates magic.” Wise words indeed… and it lingered as lessons etched in experience.

Wisdom from the Masters

Congratulating the Class of 2025, Subhash Ghai offered a message rooted in lifelong curiosity and reinvention: “The secret to success is being a student all your life – seeing beyond the obvious, never stopping the process of learning, and rebuilding yourself every day.” His words reflected not only a philosophy, but a legacy that continues to shape generations of filmmakers.

A Life Lesson from a Living Legend

The keynote address by Aparna Purohit struck a powerful and contemporary note, urging graduates to embrace discipline over distraction and longevity over noise. “Stories unite beyond borders,” she said. “Discipline, not noise, sustains you… and cinema rewards those who run the long race with passion and integrity.” It was a call to build careers with patience, purpose, and resilience.

Running the Long Creative Race

The convocation held profound emotional resonance with a special felicitation honouring Subhash Ghai’s 50-year legacy in Indian cinema. Led by Meghna Ghai Puri, President of Whistling Woods International, and witnessed by acclaimed actor Jackie Shroff, the tribute featured a thoughtfully curated audiovisual presentation created by WWI students, an intergenerational homage where legacy met learning.

Celebrating Five Decades of Cinematic Impact

Degrees were formally conferred upon the graduating students by the distinguished dignitaries present, with special awards recognising outstanding academic and creative excellence. The Valedictorian of the Class of 2025 was applauded for exceptional achievement, standing as a symbol of discipline, imagination, and dedication.

Excellence Takes Centre Stage

As the graduates of Whistling Woods International step into the professional world, they carry forward a legacy built on storytelling, innovation, and integrity. They are not merely entering the Media & Entertainment industry, they are poised to redefine its future, frame by frame, story by story.

TheGlitz Says

As the graduating class of Whistling Woods International moves beyond campus and into the professional arena, they take with them more than degrees, they inherit a creative lineage shaped by vision, discipline, and purpose. These young storytellers are not simply joining the Media & Entertainment industry; they are arriving with the intent to question, reimagine, and reshape it, crafting tomorrow’s narratives with conviction, courage, and cinematic soul.
