Singer Shahzad Ali, who is reeling from the success of his Rajasthani folk song ‘Narhar Sacho Peer’, says that the song ‘Masroof’ wouldn’t have been possible for him without lyricist Kumaar’s support.

He reveals, “I got this song because of Kumaar sir. He called me and I want you to sing this song as it will suit your voice perfectly. I didn’t even have to audition for it. This song wouldn’t have been without his support. I am thankful to him.”

Talking about the song, he adds, “The strength of this rock song is its purity and simplicity. It’s a sweet romantic song about a lover trying to win the love of his life. It has been written beautifully by Kumaar ji. I had a great time working on it.”

Written by Kumaar and composed by Aslam Keyi, the music video features Syed Raza Ahmed, Rumman Ahmed, and Aasif Khan.

Meanwhile, his Rajasthani folk song ‘Narhar Sacho Peer’ is being appreciated by music lovers. The song was released last month and it has already crossed 2 million views on YouTube.

Shahzad, who was first noticed for his deep soulful voice during the reality show ‘Sur Kshetra’, has sung for movies like ‘Kashmir Files’, ‘Ek Kahani Julie Ki’, ‘U Turn’, ‘O Pushpa I Hate Tear, Sultan, among others. He was also seen in the reality show ‘The Voice’, and ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champ 2007’ where he was hugely appreciated.
