A graduate in Bachelor of Management Studies, Mehul co-founded Dorby in 2017 alongside his father, Rajiv Agarwal. Together, they spotted an untapped opportunity and embarked on a mission to transform the surface décor landscape. With headquarters in Navi Mumbai and a growing presence across major Indian cities, Dorby’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Gandhidham, Gujarat, and immersive Experience Centers in Delhi and Thane, showcase the brand’s premium, bespoke designs.

Mehul’s forward-thinking vision has also led to Dorby’s successful global expansion into the UAE, Lebanon, and Bangladesh. From launching cutting-edge edge bands to venturing into plywood and acrylic, he is shaping the future of design one bold move at a time.

Dorby Panels has rapidly gained a strong foothold in the interior design industry. What were the key challenges you faced while building Dorby, and how did you overcome them to achieve this success?

The biggest challenge was standing out in a crowded market. We focused on delivering designs that were unique and appealed to the tastes of our customers. By consistently innovating and listening to market feedback, we managed to carve a niche for Dorby.

You have been a part of the building material industry for almost a decade, with experience in both founding and co-founding companies. How has your journey been so far in shaping Dorby and your entrepreneurial mindset?

My journey has been full of learning experiences. Shaping Dorby involved understanding what the market really wanted, and with that, building a brand known for its innovative designs. Every challenge helped me grow as an entrepreneur.

Under your leadership, Dorby has become synonymous with innovation in laminate manufacturing and home décor products. Can you share the unique strategies that have set Dorby apart in such a competitive market?

At Dorby, we keep our focus on one thing – outstanding design. It’s what makes us stand out. We make sure our designs are not just visually appealing but also functional, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve.

Dorby is on a mission to redefine interior design and transform spaces. What is your long-term vision for the brand, and how do you plan to take it to the next level in terms of both product offerings and market expansion?

We want Dorby to be the go-to brand for innovative designs in the interior décor space. We’re expanding our product line and venturing into new markets while keeping our core focus on quality designs that speak to people.

Interior design and surface décor trends are constantly evolving. How do you and your team stay ahead of the curve and ensure that Dorby continues to be a trendsetter in this space?

We stay ahead by keeping an eye on global trends and continuously experimenting with fresh designs. It’s all about being in tune with what’s next and pushing the boundaries of creativity.

As an entrepreneur and business leader, what advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs who are looking to make a mark in the interior design or building material industry?

Focus on what sets you apart—your designs. Don’t be afraid to innovate and take risks. The key is to always stay passionate and true to your vision, and the rest will follow.
