Solitario – Lab-grown Diamonds

In an inspired collision of luxury, nostalgia, and modern ethics, Solitario unveiled a sparkling new chapter in fine jewellery with the launch of its ‘Tom & Jerry and DC Universe’ inspired diamond collections in Mumbai. Partnering with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products (WBDGCP), the luxury lab-grown diamond brand transformed two of the world’s most iconic entertainment universes into collectible, high-jewellery expressions for the Indian market. The glamorous unveiling at Solaire, BKC was equal parts fashion soirée and fandom fantasy… and TheGlitz bore witness to it.

All Roads Led To Solaire For The Solitario Event

Hosted as an immersive evening where pop culture met polish, the launch blurred boundaries between animation, superheroes, and couture craftsmanship. Guests wandered through playful Tom & Jerry mischief corners and striking DC superhero zones, each designed to echo the spirit of the collections. Among those in attendance were the dapper Vivek Oberoi, Co-founder of Solitario, and the gorgeous Taha Shah Badussha, the face of Solitario’s Gentlemen’s Edit… setting the tone for a night that celebrated individuality, imagination, and innovation.

Jewellery Spotlight

At the heart of the launch were two meticulously crafted jewellery lines… each designed over six months and brought to life by 14 master karigars, who spent 18 to 40 hours per piece sculpting, setting, and finishing every creation. Crafted in 18K vermeil gold, accented with micro-pavé lab-grown diamonds, and elevated through 3D character modelling and precision engraving, the collections reflect Solitario’s signature ethos: ethical luxury without compromise.

The Playful Tom & Jerry collection

The Tom & Jerry collection leans into joyful chaos and everyday whimsy. Think dual-motif earrings, miniature pendants, playful bracelets, and stackable rings that capture the animated duo’s eternal chase… translated into chic, wearable sparkle. Its jewellery designed not just to be worn, but to delight… bringing a sense of lightness, quirkyness and nostalgia to modern wardrobes.

DC Universe Collection

In contrast, the DC Universe collection embraces bold symbolism and heroic confidence. Batman emblems, Superman shields, Wonder Woman-inspired accents, Flash bolt studs, and statement bracelets channel the power and identity of beloved superheroes. Designed for everyday wear yet steeped in iconography, the line allows fans to carry their superhero spirit subtly, yet unmistakably, into daily life.

Fusion of Pop Culture

Speaking on the collaboration, Ricky Vasandani, Managing Director of Solitario, articulated the brand’s larger vision: “This collaboration is the ultimate fusion of purpose and pop culture. We are not just creating jewellery; we are embedding the pure, ethical brilliance of lab-grown diamonds into the timeless stories of DC Universe and Tom & Jerry. Solitario’s Telos… its ultimate purpose, is to democratize luxury with a clear conscience. By partnering with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, we are giving fans a guilt-free way to wear their fandom, proving that the most sustainable luxury can also be the most fun and aspirational.”

Sparkling Celebs

The launch was further elevated by the presence of an eclectic mix of celebrities and influencers, underscoring the collection’s cross-generational appeal. Farah Khan, Eijaz Khan, Nia Sharma, Tejaswi Prakash, Karan Kundra, Nandish Sandhu, Aly Goni, Jasmin Bhasin, Abhishek Kumar, Samarth Jurel, Zareen Khan, Shiv Thakare, Divya Agarwal, Terence Lewis, celebrity designer Ken Ferns, and digital icons Elvish Yadav, Jannat Zubair, and Uorfi Javed all lent their presence, cementing the collection’s resonance with millennial and Gen Z audiences.

TheGlitz Says

What sets this launch apart is not just its star power or craftsmanship, but its cultural intelligence. Solitario has tapped into a growing desire for jewellery that is personal, expressive, and ethically grounded. By marrying lab-grown diamonds with globally loved characters, the brand positions luxury as inclusive, playful, and conscious, without diluting its sense of refinement.

In a world where luxury is increasingly defined by values as much as aesthetics, Solitario’s Tom & Jerry and DC Universe collections mark a confident step forward in the jewellery realm, where storytelling sparkles, fandom finds finesse, and diamonds carry both meaning and magic.
