Embracing Diversity in Dining

The restaurant’s soul shines through the signs and actions of each staff member in every detail, from their logo depicting ‘smile’ to the personalised name tags on uniforms. This thoughtful approach extends beyond service, creating an atmosphere where every guest becomes part of Ishaara’s unique story. The silence here speaks volumes, making each dining experience memorable long after you leave.

In the kitchen, Chef Narinder Negi works his magic, bringing rich North Indian flavours to life. His menu takes you on a journey from the bustling streets of Old Delhi to the regal kitchens of Lucknow and the vibrant tastes of Punjab. Every dish has a story to tell. Chef Negi’s specials are a must-try, blending traditional recipes with creative flair.

An Urban Oasis Setup

Ishaara, Mall of Asia, Bengaluru

Minnie Bhatt‘s interior design transforms dining into an immersive experience. The space feels like stumbling upon a secret garden in the heart of Phoenix Mall of Asia, Bengaluru. Lush greenery surrounds plush teak wood seating upholstered in shades of mustard yellow, rust and green, while artisanal terrazzo flooring adds character underfoot. Overhead, glass ceiling lamps cast a warm glow, creating intimate dining pockets throughout. The greenhouse-inspired setting, complete with tropical plants and natural elements, strikes a perfect balance between elegance and comfort. Each design element works in harmony to create an atmosphere where conversations flow easily, even without words.

The Food

At Ishaara, where tradition meets innovation, we discovered a feast that transcends the ordinary. While their regular menu masterfully spans the flavours of North India, our visit serendipitously aligned with their Kesariya pop-up—a love letter to Kashmir’s rich culinary heritage. This special menu, where saffron takes centre stage, offers a symphony of Kashmiri flavours that transport you to the region’s mystical landscapes. Each dish in this special menu showcased saffron’s versatility and shade, from subtle infusions to bold statements.

Get ready for an unfiltered review that goes beyond the usual restaurant critique, exploring how this unique establishment is redefining the fine dining experience in Bengaluru.

SMALL BITES

Rajma Galouti

A brilliant twist on the traditional galouti, where rajma replaces meat but retains all the indulgence. These buttery-soft patties strike a perfect balance between crispy exterior and a melt-in-your-mouth center. Paired with tangy chutneys and a touch of contemporary flair, we had a blast!

Water Chestnut Corn Tikki

We rightly call this a flavour bomb! The Water Chestnut Corn Tikki is all about crispy golden patties bursting with crunchy water chestnuts and sweet corn—a snack that’s pure joy!

Paneer Tikka

While it might seem like an ordinary dish, what really made it stand out was the unique Ishaara masala. The paneer tikka was marinated to perfection, melting in the mouth alongside the crunchy capsicum, onion, and tomato.

Taco

Bite-sized taco pockets filled with baked chicken, a hearty helping of mayonnaise, and layered with freshly sliced apple were put together to make the perfect snack cornucopia.

Tabak Maaz

This hearty Kashmiri classic got a bold makeover—perfectly marinated lamb chops bathed in creamy yoghurt and Ishaara’s signature masala, then deep-fried to a crispy golden crunch. Paired with a zesty chutney drizzle, it was a bite full of indulgent flavour!

Amritsari Fish Tikka

A glow-up makeover of sorts. Instead of taking a dive into the fryer, this beauty hit the tandoor for a smoky, char-grilled makeover. It still had that signature spice kick but with a lighter, sassier attitude—proof that even comfort food can turn up the heat in style!

MAINS

Salmon Gosht

Salmon Gosht was the ultimate plot twist on our plate—a sassy mashup of ocean vibes and hearty Mughlai charm! Think buttery salmon swimming in a rich, spiced curry that was clearly made to impress. The fusion done right—unexpected, indulgent, and downright irresistible!

Berry Chicken Pulao

Tender chicken and fragrant rice come together in a flavourful embrace, but it’s the sweet and tangy burst of berries that truly steals the spotlight—adding a sweet-and-sour zing to each bite. This pulao has personality, perfect for those who love their traditions with a touch of surprise!

Jaafrani Murg Korma

How would you serve luxury on a plate? Jaafrani Murg Korma is the answer. This regal dish features tender chicken simmered in a rich, saffron-infused gravy, bursting with aromatic spices and creamy decadence. A wholesome bite with buttery naans made our evening.

Paneer Malai Rishta with Peshawari Naan stuffed with mawa and nuts

A melt-in-your-mouth masterpiece—velvety soft paneer dumplings swimming in a creamy, mildly spiced gravy—rich yet delicate. A tad more spice and tang could have awakened the taste buds to balance the sweetness of Peshawari Naan.

DESSERT

Pumpkin Halwa Cake

The saffron-infused pumpkin halwa cake marries earthy sweetness with a fragrant, golden glow. Topped with a decadent scoop of velvety vanilla ice cream, it’s a warm, melt-in-your-mouth dessert that strikes the perfect balance between indulgence and overindulgence.

Saffron Firni

This creamy, dreamy delight was served in an earthen bowl. Each spoonful carries the rich aroma of saffron blended with velvety rice pudding and garnished with slivers of nuts. A sweet ending to a long evening.

DRINKS

We savoured a couple of delightfully crafted mocktails that refined the flavour with saffron hints accompanied with Toit beer.
