Your journey has had many momentous milestones. Could you tell us about the life-changing milestones that have molded you to be what you are today?

One pivotal milestone in my journey was establishing the NGO “Hari BhariVasundhara” in 2015. This marked the formalization of my commitment to environmental conservation. Another significant moment was the recognition from the municipal corporation for making compost from fallen leaves, showcasing the impact of my innovative approach. These milestones molded me into an even more dedicated environmentalist.

What are the setbacks you have faced? How did you tackle these setbacks or challenges? And what lesson have you learned from it?

Facing societal skepticism and a lack of financial support initially were significant setbacks. To overcome these challenges, I relied on perseverance and belief in my mission. I sought community engagement, slowly breaking down skepticism. The key lesson learned was that passion and dedication can overcome any obstacle, inspiring positive change.

When you look back, what are the three qualities in you that have helped you become what you are today?

Reflecting on my journey, three qualities stand out – innovation, perseverance, and a strong sense of community. Innovation fueled my compost-making techniques, perseverance helped me navigate challenges, and a strong sense of community kept me connected to people who shared my vision. These qualities have shaped my environmental efforts.

Who are the people who have been the wind behind your wings?

Dr. Subhash Chandra, a Rajya Sabha member, has given significant support to my efforts. His contribution to a fertilizer-making machine symbolized the wind beneath my wings. Additionally, the community members of “Hari BhariVasundhara” have played a crucial role, collectively providing the encouragement and backing needed to sustain and grow our initiatives.

Lastly, if there was a quote to define you, what would it be?

“In the dance of nature, every step is a contribution to harmony.” This quote resonates with my life’s work in nurturing and preserving the environment. It encapsulates my belief that every small effort contributes to the larger harmony of nature, reflecting the essence of my environmental endeavors.
