Chandrika & Aditi Thatai of FA Home

This Mother’s Day, TheGlitz celebrates two incredible women redefining what it means to be both nurturers and trailblazers – Chandrika and Aditi Thatai, the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law powerhouse behind FA Home, a brand that’s beautifully weaving together generations, craftsmanship, and luxury.

Chandrika Thatai, with over two decades of experience in high-end bedding and table linen, is the matriarchal force who founded FA Home. Her vision? To create a brand rooted in authenticity, Indian heritage, and exquisite design. Enter daughter-in-law Aditi Thatai, her modern-day counterpart and a bold new voice for accessible luxury. Aditi’s passion for innovation, coupled with a keen eye for contemporary style, has elevated FA Home into a lifestyle label loved by celebrities and families alike.

In this exclusive Mother’s Day special, these two TheGlitzMegaStar Moms open up about balancing boardrooms and bedtime stories, raising children while building an empire, and the emotional highs of motherhood. From watching their children… and now grandchildren for Chandrika – grow, to launching new product lines and smashing industry norms, their journey is proof that when women lead with heart and heritage, they don’t just build brands… they build legacies.

What’s been the most rewarding part of your motherhood journey so far?
I recently had my second child—also a boy—and honestly, it’s hard to pinpoint just one moment as the most rewarding in my three years of motherhood. Every day comes with its own set of challenges, but if my children go to bed happy, that’s the most comforting and fulfilling feeling for me. That little moment of peace at bedtime makes it all worth it.

How do you tackle challenges, and what are three milestones that define your journey?
Honestly, I take it one day at a time. With two little ones—a toddler and a baby—there’s no perfect formula. Some days feel seamless, others are just pure survival mode. But I’ve learned to ask for help, lean on my support system, and remind myself that it’s okay not to have it all figured out.

If I had to pick three milestones that have shaped my journey so far, they would be:

  1. Becoming a mom for the first time—it changed everything, including how I see myself.
  2. Taking the leap to join FA Home and build something meaningful
  3. Learning to find little moments of balance, joy, and identity even amidst the chaos of raising two young kids.

How do you strike that beautiful balance between work and home life?
It’s definitely not easy. I’m constantly reminding myself to let go of the guilt—and it’s true what they say: it takes a village to raise a child. I’m incredibly lucky to have a supportive family who helps with the children, and an amazing team at work who make it possible for me to balance both worlds.

My TheGlitz quote is…
“Happy Mom, Happy Child.” I live by this. I truly believe that prioritising yourself is essential—not just for your well-being, but for your children’s too. That’s why I always carve out a little “me time” each day, even if it’s just a few quiet moments.

What’s been the most rewarding part of your motherhood journey so far?
Motherhood has shaped so much of who I am. Watching my children grow into grounded, kind, and accomplished individuals has brought immense joy. Now, seeing my grandchildren thrive feels like a beautiful continuation of that journey. This year also feels extra special as it marks 25 years of my journey in business. It’s incredibly fulfilling to look back and see how far I’ve come. Knowing that the values I’ve held close—at home and at work—are being passed on to the next generation truly feels like the most rewarding part.

How do you tackle challenges, and what are three milestones that define your journey?
Over the years, I’ve learned that patience, faith, and adaptability are essential to navigating both motherhood and entrepreneurship.
Three milestones that define my journey would be:

  • Raising my children while creating a loving and disciplined home environment.
  • Starting FA Home and turning a lifelong passion for interiors into a purposeful venture.
  • Seeing that passion transform into a brand that reflects both heritage and heart.

How do you strike that beautiful balance between work and home life?
Balance, to me, comes from clarity and intention. I’ve always believed that both home and work deserve equal care and commitment. At FA Home, we’ve built a space where family values and creativity come together seamlessly. With time and experience, I’ve learned to stay fully present in whatever role I’m in—whether at the worktable or around the dinner table.

My TheGlitz quote is…
“To nurture is to lead with love.”
Whether it’s raising a family or building a brand, I believe in leading with care, consistency, and compassion. That, to me, is the essence of both motherhood and meaningful work.

There’s a saying that travel opens the mind and fills the heart... and nowhere did I feel this more than on my journey through Belgium, thanks to Belgium Tourism. For an Indian traveller like me, Belgium was both familiar and foreign, a place where centuries-old history sits beside modern culture, where art meets everyday life, and where every meal feels like a celebration. My route covered Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, and Brussels... each city unique, yet stitched together by that quintessential Belgian charm.
