Whether your taste is modest, lavish, or somewhere in between, you will be spoilt for choice. To honour this grand occasion called World Whisky Day, TheGlitz has rounded up six exclusive whisky cocktails for our readers.

This weekend calls for some good company and a dram or two of the delectable brown elixir of life. There are whiskies to try out in traditional and contemporary ways, like neat, with water, on the rocks, or with a cheeky mixer; there are plenty of ways to enjoy them without being exclusive or impulsive. And then there are cocktails to fully explore how whisky can be fully rumbled and enjoyed with various concoctions and mixers at its best.

World Whisky Day calls for a special celebration with these classy whisky cocktails.

Speaking of chic spirit-forward cocktails, we’ve picked a Canadian whisky, Black Velvet. True to its name, the whisky reflects its uncommon velvety taste and smoothness. Black Velvet is blended at birth, distilled, and aged for 3 years in oak. Here’s the recipe for an easy classic…

KOLKATA

Kolkata is where the single malt is folded in with fresh ginger and roasted mango elixir, topped with a spritz of Islay Whisky, and dust of raspberry chaat masala.
