Firsts & Fearless: TheGlitz Super Woman Harshita Rai Khetan

In our special “Firsts & Fearless” Women’s Day edition, TheGlitz Super Woman 2026 celebrates women who dare to challenge conventions, trust their instincts, and build something meaningful even when the path is uncertain. Among these inspiring changemakers is Harshita Rai Khetan, the visionary behind The Skin Diet Company, who is reshaping the conversation around modern skincare with a philosophy rooted in mindful living and skin wellness.

Part of a new generation of Indian beauty entrepreneurs, Harshita is driven by a simple yet transformative belief: if we are mindful about what we consume, we should be equally conscious about what we apply to our skin.

Through The Skin Diet Company, she introduced skincare inspired by superfood ingredients and barrier-focused formulations… championing skin minimalism, where fewer products, smarter formulas, and consistent results take precedence over complicated routines.

Harshita’s approach reflects the spirit of Firsts & Fearless… an unwavering commitment to authenticity, innovation, and purposeful entrepreneurship. Under her leadership, the brand has carved a distinctive identity in India’s crowded beauty landscape by blending performance-driven skincare with clean beauty principles.

Every product, from cleansers and serums to targeted lip and under-eye barrier care, is thoughtfully designed to support long-term skin health while fitting seamlessly into modern lifestyles. Vegan, cruelty-free, toxin-free, paraben-free, and sulphate-free, the formulations reflect a deeper philosophy of conscious consumption.

At TheGlitz, we celebrate Harshita Rai Khetan as a TheGlitz Super Woman… a fearless founder who proves that when passion meets purpose, beauty becomes more than skin deep; it becomes a philosophy of wellness, empowerment, and conscious living.

” One of the most meaningful “firsts” for me was expanding beyond skincare and stepping into beauty. It pushed us to start thinking about makeup not just as colour or trend, but as an extension of skincare itself.”

Firsts & Fearless

Over To Harshita Rai Khetan, Founder, The Skin Diet Company

When was the last time you did something for the first time — and how did it shift your perspective?

Harshita Rai Khetan – One of the most meaningful “firsts” for me was expanding beyond skincare and stepping into beauty. It pushed us to start thinking about makeup not just as colour or trend, but as an extension of skincare itself. While building The Skin Diet Company, we’ve always believed in formulations inspired by superfoods, and that philosophy carried into our skincare-infused makeup range.

Instead of creating lipsticks the way most beauty brands do, we focused on how a lip product could protect and rebuild the lip barrier while still delivering the colour payoff people expect from makeup. That transition made us realise that skincare and makeup don’t need to exist as separate categories. When done thoughtfully, beauty can carry the same philosophy of nourishment and care that skincare does.

What is one truth about being a woman in your industry that deserves more honest conversation?

Harshita Rai Khetan – One truth that deserves honest conversations is how often women in the industry have to prove their credibility, especially in technical and manufacturing spaces. In my experience, this shows up while working with vendors and manufacturers. You often feel the need to present yourself a certain way or speak with a certain authority just to be taken seriously in conversations around formulation, production, or quality. The expectation to constantly demonstrate your understanding is definitely there. I think the reality is that building in the beauty industry requires patience, research and science and the more openly we talk about this level of depth and nuance, the more women and the industry both can move past these assumptions

Tell us about a challenge that tested you deeply — and what rebuilding taught you about yourself.

Harshita Rai Khetan – Creating a brand from the ground up always puts you to the test in unexpected ways. Sometimes, whether it was improving formulations or ensuring that the products actually fulfilled the promise of skin nourishment through superfoods, things didn’t go as fast as I had anticipated. I learned patience throughout those times. I was reminded that meaningful products require time. I learned from rebuilding during such times that resilience frequently results from maintaining a connection to your initial goal.

What does power mean to you today, and how has that definition evolved over time?

Harshita Rai Khetan – I may have previously described power as growth, visibility, or scale. It feels so much more grounded now. Power is the capacity to construct anything carefully while upholding your moral principles. For me, it is developing goods that actually promote skin health and making choices that are consistent with that philosophy, even if doing so necessitates following a longer path.

Beyond titles and milestones, what change do you hope your journey inspires for the next generation of women?

Harshita Rai KhetanIt should inspire women to follow their gut when they perceive a gap or a chance. A basic observation—something you wish existed but doesn’t yet—is the starting point for many meaningful businesses. For me, it was the notion that superfoods may support skincare in the same way that they support our bodies. It would be immensely valuable if my experience encouraged additional women to make their ideas a reality.

Rapid-Fire: Harshita Rai Khetan“Her Firsts.”

First bold risk you took
Leaving the comfort of a predictable career path to build a brand from the ground up.

– First time you chose yourself without guilt
When I decided to trust my own vision for skincare, even when it didn’t follow the conventional route.

– First failure that became a lesson
Early formulation trials that simply didn’t work the way we expected. They taught me that product development is as much about patience as it is about creativity.

– First big win that felt surreal
Seeing someone genuinely connect with the philosophy of The Skin Diet Company — that skin can be nourished with powerful superfoods.

-First time you felt fearless
The moment I committed to the idea of building the brand and realized there was no turning back.

– First woman who shaped your ambition
My mother. Watching her manage responsibilities with quiet strength showed me what determination really looks like.
