We had tried out Crazy Owl’s bath and fragrance products before and loved them. So when they sent the Crazy Owl Red Yasmin Eau de Parfum to TheGlitz, we couldn’t wait to try it out.

Crazy Owl Red Yasmin packaging: It came in the typical white Crazy Owl box. The Eau de Parfum bottle inside was a lovely shade of scarlet red, gold and whiteish gold… very glam, mysterious and enigmatic.

Crazy Owl Red Yasmin

The fragrance: Crazy Owl Red Yasmin had this tantalising fragrance which had a touch of fresh oranges and saffron – we are told the top notes have them as well as tagete. Smell it again and you can get a lovely lilting note of jasmin and caramel blended with the freshness of oranges At the base, there is a more earthy smell of musk, sweet and moss with amber olfactive. and the effect is truly amazing.

We think it works as a unisex fragrance too – the base notes of musk and moss give it more depth while the jasmin and oranges have the lightness that you hanker for in an Eau de Parfum. The fragrance is long-lasting and lingers on for hours.

Our verdict: We loved Crazy Owl Red Yasmin. It’s strong though not overpowering, mysterious and long-lasting. It smells like a luxury Eau de Parfum but is quite affordable at Rs 999 for 100 ml.

Shiro and Candices Gourmet Sandwiches landed on my plate the same weekend, and I'm still thinking about both. At Candice's, a Banh Mi with tofu tasted better than it had at any of my previous jaunts, while Thai salad proved healthy food doesn't have to be boring. Over at Shiro, sushi arrived looking like art and tasting like the decade of experience behind it. One place let me show up in whatever I was wearing. The other deserved a dress code written in its towering Buddha and polished floors. Both knew exactly what they were doing.
