When Stonex India decided to celebrate artistic mastery, they did it with a bang – well, more like a dazzling constellation of creativity and innovation. The launch of their ambitious documentary series, Mastery – Journey of Excellence, was nothing short of a cultural extravaganza, and it unfolded in the glittering corridors of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC). TheGlitz reports…

It was indeed a starry starry evening and all roads led to NMACC where Stonex launched its groundbreaking documentary series. And the evening was undoubtedly a masterclass in elegance, with former model and actress Ms. Suchitra Pillai leading the charge. Her warm welcome and insightful remarks set the tone for a night that was as much about celebrating artistry as it was about setting new standards in creative excellence.

The Stonex Bonanza – Art Meets Conversation

The highlight of the evening was a riveting panel discussion featuring the very artists immortalized in the Mastery series. Picture this: a room full of creative minds, each sharing their personal odyssey through the labyrinth of artistic perfection. It was like getting a backstage pass to the most exclusive art show—only this time, the artists were spilling their secrets live.

But wait, there’s more. Stonex revealed tantalizing hints about their upcoming Design District in New Delhi—a space that promises to be as revolutionary as a Rubik’s Cube with a PhD in architecture. Imagine a building that, from the outside, looks like a jigsaw puzzle of stone blocks. Step inside, and you’re transported to an Italian quarry where the spirit of art and design plays hide and seek with your senses.

This Design District will feature dynamic installations inspired by Indian dance mudras, global masterpieces in natural stone, seven galleries dedicated to human emotions, and immersive art experiences that might just make you question if you’re still in Delhi or if you’ve stumbled into an artistic dreamscape.

A Symphony of Sensory Delights

Lekha Washington

The evening’s enchantment continued with Lekha Washington’s poetry recital, Truth, Freedom, Art and Other Delusions. Her verses wove through the crowd like an intricate tapestry, stirring deep reflections on the essence of art. Then, veteran artist Subodh Kerkar took the stage, delivering a thought-provoking talk on the ‘Purpose of Art’ that left the audience in contemplative silence.

Sandeep Narayan

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, acclaimed Carnatic vocalist Sandeep Narayan took center stage. His performance was so mesmerizing that if there were a standing ovation meter, it would have broken records. His soulful melodies echoed through the venue, perfectly encapsulating the mastery that Stonex’s series aims to celebrate.

The guest list was a who’s who of cultural luminaries. From renowned director Prahlad Kakar and his wife Mitali to the celebrated Bharatanatyam artists Radhe Jaggi and Prachi Sathi, the event was a glittering affair. The crème de la crème of celebrity interior designers, including Rupin Suchak, Hiral Jabolia, Kiran Gala, Prashant Chauhan, Priyanka Mehra, and Piyush Mehra, also graced the occasion, adding an extra layer of prestige.

Looking Ahead

In a stroke of savvy foresight, Stonex also hinted at their forthcoming Design District, set to launch in 2025. This forthcoming venture promises to be a playground for those with a penchant for marbles, natural stones, and imaginative design. It will feature an experiential center and art gallery that aim to blur the lines between art, design, and culture.
