Bigg Boss

Bigg Boss OTT with Anil Kapoor has been trying very hard to live up to the stellar reputation of its big brother, the OG Bigg Boss, Colors hosted by Salman Khan. Unfortunately, though TheGlitz loves ‘My Name Is Lakhan’ Anil Kapoor, sorry to say, he’s no Salman Khan and Bigg Boss OTT looks like a sloppy version of the original show. The OTT show replete with influencers and Youtubers has been a big letdown even though the Jio PR team insist that the show has broken all TRP records. Seriously?

Bigg Boss

Bigg Boss OTT Slapgate

And to top it, in a recent episode, Armaan Malik slapped Vishal Panday on the pretext that he had made a “lewd” comment about his second wife Kritika who walks around the house, prancing around looking dumb as a dumbbell. And the so-called “lewd” comment from Vishal was “I like Kritika Bhabhi. I’m guilty!” The house was shocked! Bigg Boss was shell-shocked and Anil Kapoor looked like he had taken it personally.

Bigg Boss

The much-married Armaan spewed filthy abuses and slapped Vishal in front of the camera for making that comment. Bigg Boss is a reality show based on provocation and poking but violence is abhored and banned. Remember how Bigg Boss had thrown Umar Riaz out of the house for getting physically aggressive with Pratik? However, this time, Arman seemed to be born under a favored star. Respected actor Ranvir Shourey and Deepak Chaurasia, a seasoned journalist, excused Armaan for being “violent” as a provocation and said that this was a special case. Vishal had crossed the line with Armaan’s wife, they said. Who would tolerate that? The girls in the show insisted at Anil Kapoor’s behest that outside even their family members would have slapped anybody who commented on them like that. Mumbai Rapper Naezy was the only one who had the guts to say that Armaan should be ousted for violence.

The Comment?

And the comment was… “I Like Kritika Bhabhi. I’m guilty!” The housemates insisted one can’t say this to “married women”. Seriously! Which world are these housemates living in? From which angle was this comment “lewd”… Ranvir’s reasoning was that Vishal had whispered it in Luvkesh’s ears and that’s what made it “lewd”.

Gauahar Khan says

Bigg Boss

Actor Gauahar Khan took to her Instagram Stories to come forward and support Vishal Pandey. Without naming anyone in particular, the actor shared that she is wondering if it is fair to not find married people beautiful. Gauahar wrote, ”Toh kya married logon ko sundar bolna bhi gunah hai!!!!!????? Kuch bhi. (Is it a crime to call married people beautiful. Doesn’t make sense)”. Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 winner, YouTuber Elvish Yadav, who is LuvKesh’s friend slammed Bigg Boss OTT for not ousting Arman for violence. Though we don’t agree with a lot of things Elvish does, we agree with him here.

Oust Armaan Malik!

Bigg Boss

Bigg Boss OTT needs to get out of its antiquated thinking. What was exactly wrong with that comment? Vishal said he liked Kritika. He voiced it. Perhaps he whispered into Luv’s ears because he knew it was silly to have a crush on Kritika. Who knows? Even if his intentions were not pure, he didn’t say anything abusive, nasty, dirty or objectionable. The slap from Armaan was objectionable. He should have been ousted from the house at that very moment.

But Bigg Boss OTT seems to be playing games of its own. Buck up Bigg Boss OTT. Stop being puerile. Married women aren’t objects locked up in a museum, destined never to be admired. …Time to get up and smell the coffee.

There’s a certain kind of silence in the jungle that luxury hotels can never manufacture. A silence broken only by rustling leaves, distant birdsong, the soft crackle of a bonfire, and somewhere far away, the low warning call that signals a tiger is near. As dawn light spills across the golden forests of the National Park, the world suddenly feels slower, quieter, almost suspended in time — and perhaps that’s exactly why some of the world’s most visible people are escaping into the wild.
