Winters can tend to be dull and gloomy and waking up from your bed makes you want to laze in all day. And the dull boring colours of your room, don’t really help much in building up your motivation.

Picking the perfect colour scheme for a bedroom can be a frightfully complicated task. With countless decisions to be made, people are often stranded in a room full of boring neutrals due to a fear of colour commitment.

“More often than not people pick neutral colours because they’re worried about the fact that they will be stuck with a particular colour and they may grow out of in a few days or months. However, there are different, creative ways you can brighten up your room and give it the colour it truly deserves.”

Don’t want your room to have the Plain-Jane syndrome, here are some perfect and easy ways to add that much-needed pop of colour!

Fun Throw Pillows

If you are a decor enthusiast, you can never get enough of the cute little throw pillows! Add small tiny throw pillows to your bed set, to add elements of pop to the room. These days throw pillows come in so many designs and sizes that you can deck your bed up with a few pillows of various sizes to break the monotony and add an element of oomph to the room! If you prefer solid-coloured bedsheets, then you must add pillows with patterns and designs on them, and vice versa. Choose pillows with thick, small patterns in light colours to create a bohemian rhythmic accent. Pillowcases with chunky knit and natural shades add a charming element to your room. These pillows will decorate any chic bedroom right from vintage to Scandinavian.

Colourful bedsheets and Duvets

Bright and vibrant bedding colours like yellow and orange are said to have a positive impact on your mind. For instance, a dash of orange in your room can instantly make you cheerful, whereas Yellow is said to help calm you down. Experts suggest using that colour of the sky i.e. Blue in the kids’ bedrooms. Blue is said to make them feel expressive, while also balancing hyperactivity. Choosing blue bedsheets or duvets can be very effective to help ward off insomnia as it promotes deep relaxing sleep, while also keeping you warm and cosy during the winter.

It’s mix-and-match time!

If this year has taught us anything, it is how less is more. With the restrictions of getting out to buy new things, some of the decor enthusiasts showcased their creativity by mixing up the minimal elements available and creating something fabulous that made us all go gaga. Why use the same bedsheet set on rotation one after the other, while, mixing them up can create a wow factor and give you results that baffle you? For instance, you can use a solid-coloured bedsheet with geometric designed pillow covers, or use light pastel coloured striped bed sheets with dark solid coloured. Try out different combinations and see what suits the colour and tone of your room!

So this season, don’t let the winter blues bring you down, throw in pops of colour and bring in the brightness to your rooms!
