Meetha by Radisson

TheGlitz recently received a special “sweet ‘n’ savoury” Raksha Bandhan hamper from Meetha by Radisson, and one look inside was enough to tell us that this was going to be a deliciously indulgent experience. Packed with an inviting assortment of savouries and traditional Indian mithai, the hamper brought together crisp, flaky, creamy and nutty treats in one generous festive spread.

From mouth-watering golden kachoris and samosas accompanied by vibrant green and tangy red chutneys to luscious rasmalai and an assortment of rich dry-fruit sweets, this was a celebration of familiar Indian flavours with plenty of festive temptation.

A Savoury Beginning

Before getting to the mithai, Meetha by Radisson makes a persuasive case for beginning the indulgence on a savoury note. The huge kachoris arrive with a crisp, golden exterior and a wonderfully flavourful, spiced filling, offering that satisfying contrast between crunch and softness. The giant samosas are equally inviting, with their flaky pastry giving way to a comforting savoury centre.

And then come the chutneys. The fresh green chutney brings a lively, herbaceous freshness, while the red chutney adds a tangy, slightly sweet counterpoint. Together, they elevate the savouries from simple teatime treats into proper festive indulgences. There is something particularly satisfying about alternating a crisp bite of samosa with a dab of bright green chutney before moving on to the sweetness of the mithai.

Meetha Lao – Then Comes the Rasmalai

And then, just when you think you’ve exercised enough restraint, there is the rasmalai.

Soft, delicate discs of chenna sit immersed in creamy, gently sweetened milk, creating that unmistakable melt-in-the-mouth texture that makes rasmalai such a beloved Indian dessert. The richness is comforting rather than overwhelming, allowing the delicate dairy flavour to shine through.

There is also something wonderfully nostalgic about rasmalai. It evokes festive lunches, family gatherings and the inevitable moment when someone says, “Just have one more.” With this one, that may be difficult advice to resist.

A Dry-Fruit Indulgence

The assortment of dry-fruit sweets brings another dimension to the hamper. Rich, nutty and satisfyingly dense, these mithais have the kind of texture that encourages you to slow down and savour every bite.

Dry-fruit sweets also make particularly elegant festive gifts. Their richness feels celebratory, while their beautifully crafted appearance adds to the sense of occasion. Paired with a cup of hot chai or coffee, they make for an indulgent afternoon ritual… or, if you’re anything like us, a very convenient excuse for another sweet.

Raksha Bandhan Gets Sweeter

For Raksha Bandhan, Meetha by Radisson has curated a selection that extends well beyond the hamper we received. Created with the expertise of Chef Sanjay Kachave, the festive collection brings together traditional Indian favourites and thoughtful gifting options designed around the spirit of sibling celebrations.

The Ghewar is a particularly seasonal indulgence… a quintessential Raksha Bandhan favourite with its crisp, lacy texture and rich festive character. Then there is the ever-popular Kaju Katli, elegant, smooth and wonderfully melt-in-the-mouth, making it an easy choice for siblings and family members.

The Motichoor Ladoo adds another dose of festive cheer. Delicate, flavourful and perfectly suited to sharing, these little golden ladoos are made for festive hampers, Rakhi celebrations and that inevitable post-meal sweet craving.

For those looking for something beyond mithai, premium dry fruits offer a more wholesome gifting option while retaining the sense of occasion.

Make Your Own Rakhi Hamper

One of the more thoughtful touches is Meetha by Radisson’s option to create a customised Raksha Bandhan hamper. Guests can bring together their choice of festive mithais and premium dry fruits and even add a Rakhi, creating a personalised gift rather than opting for a one-size-fits-all box.

It is a lovely option for those who know exactly what their sibling loves… or simply want their gift to feel a little more personal. And frankly, being able to curate a box of Ghewar, Kaju Katli, Motichoor Ladoo and dry fruits sounds like a very good problem to have.

A Celebration of Familiar Flavours

What makes the Meetha by Radisson offering particularly appealing is its sense of familiarity. There is no need to reinvent the festive table when the classics already carry so much emotional resonance.

Kachoris, samosas, chutneys, rasmalai, Ghewar, Kaju Katli and Motichoor Ladoo are foods that belong to the language of Indian celebrations. They remind us of family homes, festive afternoons, mithai boxes being passed around and the simple pleasure of sharing something delicious with someone you love.

TheGlitz Verdict

For TheGlitz, the Meetha by Radisson Raksha Bandhan offering gets the festive mood beautifully right. Our special hamper was a generous combination of crisp savouries, zingy chutneys, creamy rasmalai and indulgent dry-fruit sweets, while the wider Rakhi collection adds beloved classics such as Ghewar, Kaju Katli and Motichoor Ladoo, along with the option to create a personalised hamper.

Priced from ₹500 onwards and available at Meetha by Radisson outlets in Goregaon, Bandra and Borivali, the collection makes Raksha Bandhan gifting deliciously easy. Whether you’re looking for a box to send to a sibling, something to bring to the family table or a customised hamper that says “I know exactly what you like,” this is one festive indulgence that’s very hard to argue with.

Our verdict? Consider this your official invitation to indulge… because Raksha Bandhan was clearly made for mithai, memories and just one more sweet.
