Situated in a quaint lane of Upper Worli, this elegant European cafe caught our eyes and we from TheGlitz had to check it out. Inspired by the name ‘Bougain Villa Café’, the arched glass with italics painted over stands tall. Indeed, the cafe is absolutely gorgeous to look at.

A Little Bit of Europe

Misbah Kapadia, Founder & Curator of Design Konstruct, was the one who transformed this place into a thing of beauty. The team at Design Konstruct not only painted a blank canvas into a warm, stylish and elegant place making it one of the most aesthetically pleasing cafés in the city. Keeping detailing at the
core, each table is curated to give guests a little bit of Europe in the heart of Mumbai. On entering, guests are welcomed with red bougainvillea flowers with a round rectangular swing and a strip swing hung from the top surrounded by beautiful planters making it a beautiful alfresco setting. The interiors of the place exude an inviting atmosphere that immediately elevates the dining experience. From the botanical prints and fresh hues of the upholstery to the tables inspired by Bougainville’s design, the café has a fresh and radiant vibe.

Play of Hues

The green shade of the ceiling, the white curtains inspired by Paris-style cafés, the bright rust wall to intensify the look and the façade glasses showcasing the menu add to the elegance of this place. The main stimulus are the columns which are wrapped in MDF with white bougainvilleas with their roots
enfolded around the columns – making it a site to behold.

Elegance Personified

The bakery counter has its own elements – white ply tables, an old-school menu holder coated
in black powder on a back wall which is beautifully designed with vertical shelves of metal and
storage of wood with blackboards. The entire space is an explosion of well-thought design, colorfully curated elements and a welcoming feel that will make you visit, again and again!

As Sumita Chakraborty, Editor-in-Chief, TheGlitz, puts it, “It’s like Mother Nature just hired the best interior designer and decided to go full glam.” Now, luxury isn’t just about having a home that dazzles—it’s about having one that grows. Forget the art collection; the new conversation starter is that lush, floor-to-ceiling living wall that practically breathes life into your cocktail parties.
